⇢ Welcome to our TH-cam channel. We are Leigh and Nick, a married couple from the UK (Technically we are civil partner shipped but hey it's close enough)
Due to a health scare in 2017, we decided to start enjoying life more outside our business. We bought a Lodge on the east coast of England and started vlogging our daily adventures
Join us as we explore the UK, Florida, Disney and further afield aswell as spending time at the Lodge on our own, with family and with our friends

The gaylord palms is even better at Christmas time and also has ice! An ice sculpture event with ice slides, snowballs, skating and cookie decorating etc really lovely day out 🎉

There are several Gaylord Hotels around the Country -- Nashville, Dallas, Denver, etc. All wonderful.

Thanks for the great vlog - when we went in 2019 we bought tickets from the shop next to the flea market entrance- ask for Jerome he was super helpful! I hope it’s still there (you can’t miss it). Look forward to that vlog! 🎥

We stayed at Gaylord palms in 2004 during one of the really bad hurricanes with our friends who live in Florida and got us a Florida resident room rate, we stayed for 3nights. Glad you both got to go and experience it after mentioning it for so long. 😊
There’s also a Gaylord palm in Nashville.

I have absolutely enjoyed your last few vlogs. You have shown me places that I never knew I could visit. I already have a list in my mind for next year"s visit - Wild Florida, Gaylord Palms, Winter Park. And, we intended to visit Old Town last month, but never got there. I had no idea there was so much to it. Thanks for showing the Tilt-a-Whirl ride at Old Town. I loved that ride when I was a kid. You two are a walking advertisement for the Orlando/Kissimmee area. I have been to the Gaylord Opryland hotel in Nashville. It was decades ago.

I need that wine vending machine in my life!! The Gaylord Opryland hotel in Nashville is even bigger and has rivers you can take a boat trip on. Its amazing.

Christmas is amazing at Gaylord Palms - the atrium is all decorated and has shows every day - “ICE” is fantastic - they issue you with blue long duvet coats for walking round it - you need to book though as is so busy 🥰
I love when you start a vlog with, Im not eating much today because we're done nothing but eat. Guaranteed to then be a food and drink vlog🤣

Enjoying this video very much. I love when you see other areas rather than only the parks. I think crudites are raw (crude) veggies for eating hummus with.

Loving your videos ❤️ i love old town! We come from Scotland and stayed at celebration suites too. We loved the pondarosa restaurant don't know if its still there? Was just across from the suite. Was last there 2015 but planning our next trip now our youngest is a bit older now.❤🎉🎉

We went twice in March to Downtown Orlando to see Basketball & soccer both at night and went walking around for food before the matches, it was fine never would have know there might have been a problem untill now you mentioning it. We are a family of 4, 2 boys 12 & 17. Felt totally safe. X

I remember way back when we were on our honeymoon in Orlando, we went to a timeshare meeting! We didn’t sign up to anything, had a bite to eat and a tour round & got a $100 gift card 👍🏻 well worth it in my opinion! Great vlog guys ❤ xx

Well, you certainly packed it all into the day. Loved the look of the wine bar, bet you're glad the other places were closed or you might not have found it. Gaylord Hotel is supposed to be pretty spectacular over Christmas

Looked absolutely fab what a brilliant place to visit , how far is Gaylord from Disney I’d like to had a looked round it when we get there. I must say that wine bar looks like heaven all those wines 🥰 looks like your having a wonderful holiday x
If you do go to Downtown Orlando go during the daytime or go to the Amway for the ice hockey or basketball games they are absolutely amazing, been to a fair few games at the Amway and been to the Orlando soccer stadium

In Winter Park the main street for food and shopping is Park Ave. Tiffony has a good museum to visit off of Park Ave.

I just looked for a room at Gaylord Palms for 9 nights in September 2024 to see how it compared price wise to Disney and it is sold out. Tried for November and it is over $5,000 for a week in a Atrium room view so way more expensive than Disney
Thanks for the blog - does anyone know exactly where the brush garden shuffle pick-up is? Is it outside the big old town signs?
Our dvc annual fees for 230 points was only £1410 this year due to poor rate of exchange ! I actually feel it’s worth every Penny as we get deluxe resorts ! We wished we had bought our dvc when we were younger ! We purchased in 2003 ! Made initial layout of money back ! I love winter park ! It’s my go to place , we visit every year , the food and the boutiques are amazing ! Last year we got the bus from ds to central bus station then the sunrail to winter park ! Cheap as chips and we were both able to eat and drink !

Winter Park was the original city for the wealthy in Central Florida, it also boasts one of the richest private colleges, Rollins College, located off Park Ave. It is the city that started the trend of outdoor walk-around eating, shopping, parks, outdoor art festivals and museums.
Its a lovely place to visit
Thank you both for this epic vlog, full of interesting and a varied selection of things to do and see away from the parks. The 2 and 3 dollar beers are a must. Winter Park is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing the family, they are such good fun. 😊

When I was growing up, Shoney’s was pretty good, at least to a kid, and even later on they had a terrific breakfast bar, but it’s gone downhill a lot, at least the ones I’ve been to. I was in a Shoney’s commercial once, though. The hotel you went to seems very similar to the Opryland Hotel here in Nashville; it’s also a Gaylord hotel, and it’s incredibly expensive and charges outrageous prices just to park there. I haven’t been to it in years, partly because I’m not willing to spend $35 just to park my car.
Really wish we'd visited Kissimmee last year, but all the more reason to go back. Gaylord looks amazing hotel, I watched someone's vlog a few years ago and they got put there by Tui or virgin when a hurricane forced them to evacuate their hotel.
Would love to stay there one day
We've done Gaylord Palms at Christmas and its beautiful. Old Town car show is great if y'all haven't seen it.

Do you know if the cheap tickets have a specific date on them to be used by? Might be interested for when I come over next year to get a cheap ticket for Universal

My wife and I also went into one of these 'orientations". We started the process at a store they had in Old Town, btw. At the resort, the seller got very upset when we told him that we were not buying the time share. He slammed is iPad case and walked away very mad. We had with us our son, back then a baby. My wife went with the baby to the bathroom, and the guy even stop the meeting until my wife came back. At the end, we got our tickets for Halloween Horror Night for $40!
Is the Rock and mineral shop still there in Old Town? Used to love a visit there.

Leigh and Nick, thanks for this. Really enjoyed looking round Gaylords again. We took some friends from Rotherham a few years ago when they stayed at our villa. Did they feed the fish whilst you were there?
No I dont think they fed the fish at the time we were there. Loved looking around though
@@TheLodgeGuys If/when you go again try to catch them feeding the fish. The water just "boils" as they chase the food. The Permit and Tarpon especially. The biggest Tarpon I've caught down the Keys was 140lbs.
