I always knew that the 1994-96 “Red Sky” version of the OG TMNT Theme Song fits the 2003 TMNT like a glove much better than the 2003 TMNT Theme Song itself. Well done!
If turtles forever combined the 03 turtles with the red sky turtles I'd become a politician and sign it in to law as being illegal not to call it the absolute peak of the franchise.
Even the second best intro for the oldest tmnt cartoon is better than everything else. And the one from 2003 was not bad but still this theme was way better. And thank you for the great edit!
This red sky theme fits the 2K3 series better than the actual 2K3 theme. Which, I was never a fan of. The rest sounded like generic Saturday morning cartoon music that was prevalent for the time. It's the case where the 1987 TMNT has the 2003 TMNT beat hands down in the music department.

Weather or not the 2003 intro is better than the 1987 red sky theme (a remix of a more catchy and upbeat song i might add) depends on the individual's preferences. However, being dark doesn't literally mean that any given piece of entertainment should encompass dark shades, it's actually quite the opposite. Mature storytelling, themes and concepts are what make something "dark". The 2003 show for example is way more capable of handling more serious stories and characters while still having a wide range of colors that, when done properly, can enhance the overall mood of a scene due to their symbolic nature. Is the 2003 show a masterpiece of visual design? No. Is it more varied and interesting than a limited color palette? If the answer is yes, then congrats you like batman v superman and suicide squad.
In my view, the final 3 seasons of the 1987 series (AKA the Blood Red Sky seasons from 1994-1996 to be exact) deserved better than they had. For example, the late great James Avery stepped down as the Shredder voice, and Casey Jones deserved more episode appearances besides just the Cyber Turtles episode. Imagine the Hockey masked vigilante trying on a Cyber Suit, or having a monster mutation in season 9. On the positive note, they had a more powerful intro theme, the 4 Turtles had better masks with bigger eyebrows, April hung up the yellow jumpsuit, and there was a lot less childish horseplay.
It's kind of why this unexpected departure feels so forced because it's blatantly attempting to follow the mature stories of batman the animated series without even understanding what made that show work. There's never any real character development or progression of any kind in these "Blood Red Sky seasons" (adding blood only makes it sound more ridiculous than it already is) nor does the show explore interesting themes and concepts. It's just the same characters as before but in literally dark shaded situations and environments, which is just dull.
@@mitchfletcher2386 Sure, he's more of a threat and Tony Jay's wonderful performance does add to his character. But there just isn't as much of a connection between him and the turtles as with Shredder for example. I do like Dregg as a villain but as the turtles' main villain? Nah.
Really would've made a perfect theme for this show if they embraced the 87 show a bit more. At least, the Red Sky era at least given how tougher the show was compared to the previous seasons or their opinion of it.
And the real reason Shredder was written out of the main villain role and replace by Dregg was actually because PR, Power Rangers was switching their villain
