My dad was terrible, treated me like a doll, or a trophy(he’s a narcissist), and was hella emotionally damaging to me. Also neglected me and didn’t spend much time with me either.

This is true for me. My mom was absent. Physically but more so emotionally so I grew up overly emotional but distant at the same time. I learned how to balance that and now I teach people with similar issues to do the same.
