    Yeah, so followed both this tutorial and the one where you did this with an EyeToy (along with the pre-reqs in the description) and I'm not able to get any sort of response when I try to go to the [given IP]:8765. I also see a ton of messages when I run the script being curled about being unable to find packages. Is there a certain repo I'm supposed to be adding?

    QuickPi Hi, thanks for the awesome video. I’m having trouble viewing the camera once I leave the local network. I have other devices such as lights that work off the local network using an AppleTV 4k as a HomeKit hub, but the camera cannot be viewed unless connected to the local network. I’ve also tried using an iPad as a HomeKit hub and still run into the same issue (lights can be controlled remotely but the camera only works on the local network). Am I missing any steps? Do I need to set up any kind of port forwarding? Thanks in advance!

    I havn't manage to make it work yet - also maybe due to the different versions of the different libraries.
    Everything seems to work, except that in the Apple Home Kit app the image from the camera is not shown.
    One first difference is that my camera within the MotionEye Web Interface is shown in the "Local V4l2 Camera" and not in the "Local MMAL Camera" drop-down menu. Is it really needed to have it in the "Local MMAL Camera" menu available, and if so how do I configure it to be shown in there?
    And in general how do I change the source of the camera that is used by CameraCore.js from HAP-NodeJS?

    I know the video is a bit older now, but im getting an error during install of motioneye
    Reading state information... Done

    E: Unable to locate package libavformat57
    E: Unable to locate package libavresample2

    It never really completes anything after that it drops to the connect to motioneye at prompt and back to the terminal when I attempt to goto the "RBPip:8765" it gives me the page is not avalible
    Any ideas or suggestions

    It looks like PIs are shipping with SSH disabled now by default which will stop you connecting to the PI remotely.
    It can be enabled easy in raspi-config right next to where you enable the camera.
    Ensure you change the standard passwords for your own security.

    Would this also work with a USB Camera? Because i discovered the microphone Logo in your Home app while you were streaming. Is this exclusive for the RasPi Camera or also for a usb camera possible ?
    Im just wondering

    • @QuickPie
      @QuickPie  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could technically be used with any camera as long as the resolution in motioneye is set to 1024x600

    • @GattoDAV
      @GattoDAV 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it possible to change this resolution? Awesome tutorial btw :)

    • @QuickPie
      @QuickPie  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately changing the frame rate causes a huge drop in frame rate. It can be done, but the current resolution it’s set to puts the least load on the Pi while still giving a solid 30 FPS stream.

  • @imvandam

      QuickPi there was some issues but I couldn’t capture them all. I went through the whole process again and it looks ok now.
      Next question is, is this running HomeBridge as well as MotionEye?
      I have followed a few different videos and got HomeBridge running on another Pi and was hoping just to add this to that. This should save the Pi Zero from running MotionEye and HomeBridge.

    How come the date on the live feed is 2016? is there a way to adjust the date?

    • @QuickPie

      I used previous footage from one of my other HomeKit camera tutorials. MotionEye will automatically set the date properly.

      hmm can you all contact me on twitter? this is strange. Barathan (comments above) had a similar problem and I had to manually run some of the installation commands in order to fix it. This might now be an isolated issue due to the fact I have fixed a few glitches in the code.

      First, thank you for your video' s. I'm sorry but don't use twitter. For your information I'm using Rpi model B+. Rev 013 with Stretch.
