How GOOD is Casper Ruud Actually?

As far as Norway is concerned, Casper Ruud is already the best player the country has ever produced. Born in Norway's capital city of Oslo, Ruud grew up in Snarøya, which is part of the Baerum area. Although Casper didn't start playing tennis until he was four years old, it's safe to assume that he has always been connected to the game. His father Christian was a professional tennis player who even had the highest position ever for a Norwegian player (No. 39) before his son overtook him in February 2020. Christian represented Norway in three straight Olympic Games throughout his career. He started working professionally in 1991 and left the field ten years later. After a while, Christian passed the baton to his son, who went on to have incredible success in Norway's tennis scene. When Casper was a little child, it was Christian who taught him how to play tennis. But as Casper's coach, he has also been the inspiration for all of his successes. Thus, Ruud moved on to the next phase of his professional tennis career in 2022. After making history by making it to the French Open final and losing to Rafael Nadal, Ruud made waves with his triumph in the ATP Masters 1000 Miami final. He entered the US Open final with the goal of winning the competition, despite being the first Norwegian to ever reach a major championship final. Ruud's efforts were not fruitful once again. The Norwegian enjoyed a tournament he would never forget at Flushing Meadows, but in the end, Carlos Alcaraz of Spain proved too much for him in the final match.
