EASTERN NAGALAND CALLS CONSULTATIVE MEETING WITH ENPO, ENLU, NWO, ENSF ETC. AT TOURIST LODGE DIMAPUR

The Eastern Nagaland Gazette Officers Association today, on 14 February called for a consultative meeting with the ENPO, ENLU, Talk Team, ENWO, ENSF, 8 Apex Tribal Presidents at the Tourist lodge, Dimapur. The Meeting was held to discuss the 2011 Draft of Autonomous Council presented and which was enormously rejected by the people of eastern Nagaland. Limaonen Chang, Secretary, ENLU talking with media stated that today's meeting was mainly focused on the Demand of separate statehood to Eastern Nagaland (Frontier Nagaland) and they are waiting for the response of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

Because we need to be reasonable and brutally truth here!! We all knows that, eastern Region mlas aren't fools anymore, they ride most expensive cars, lives in the best homes, kids studies is the best school/colleges in town, employs the best PA/PS in the states. We are all aware of the challenges faced by the Eastern Nagas in accessing adequate facilities, but this should not lead to division. Let's remain rational and consider whether achieving separate statehood will truly benefit us, given the prevailing corruption in our state. The root cause of many issues lies in corruption, but we have tools such as the Right to Information (RTI) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to combat it. During elections, we have the opportunity to elect honest leaders who can work for the welfare of our people. By collectively holding corrupt officials accountable and utilizing existing mechanisms, we can bring about positive change. It's crucial to exercise our voting rights wisely and refrain from selling our votes. Only then can we experience real development. Without addressing these fundamental issues, obtaining statehood alone will not solve our problems, and it may lead to similar demands from other tribes, which is not productive.
