Looks like it starts on the embankment, left at the end, up Newnham Avenue, right onto Goldington Road. 00:32 Goldington Green on the left, approaching the two pubs on the right. 01:07 Renhold Turn on left at top of hill (There is a roundabout here and by-pass passes beneath to the right now. The old road carries on toward Gt. Barford.) 01:19 Cuckoo Brook Bend just as it was. 01:46 passing Rogers Agricultural Engineers as we leave Gt. Barford. 02:12 just passing top of Roxton Village. 02:29 This junction onto the A1 is still there on the A1 Northbound carriageway just opposite Kelpie Marina as a road to Roxton 'for authorised vehicles only'. (Was the way we used to go to Bedford when the road through Lt. Barford was the way Eynesbury connected out to the A1 at Tempsford. Used to turn right across the A1 from Barford Road, then left through Roxton toward Gt. Barford.) 02:48 Wybo. Village (I missed the Black Cat Cafe). 03:06 The Crown P.H., Eaton Socon. 03:41 is about where the A1 bears left up toward Crosshall at Bradshaws Corner, we continue to the right. Hope I have been of some help, it may also help to jog other people's memories.

My friends and I use to cycle from Goldington to St Neots along that route in the late sixties (11 and 12 years olds), not much was different to what we see in the film. Now when I go home to Goldington (in the reverse direction) apart from a few buildings in Whyboston nothing looks similar until I pass the roundabout just before Goldington spinney, the Swan and the Anchor pubs opposite the green, then I am home.

Excellent! Not a dual carriageway in sight!

Wow, when I was a kid I remember that journey in my aunts car, No elms farm industrial estate, Tesco riverfield drive or norse road. Have we really got it better today, If I hadnt got grandkids I think the world should have a reset button.

It looks like it's the 428 past goldington green, past where Tesco's roundabout and the duel carriageway now is through great barford. The great north road (a1) was the T junction where he turned left. From there I'm lost!

Wow, whoever that is just pulls straight out into the oncoming traffic. Quite a lot of those bits are exactly the same half a century later..

Wow strange so few cars on the road wish it still like that I bloody hate driving due to congestion\ jams etc. Would have loved being on the road in those days. also some of those roads still look quite familiar Ive done that trip a few times.

Is this really the present A421 through Great Barford? It doesn't seem right somehow.

Yes I can vouch for it as I did that route in the 60's
