I researched this place and the institution itself still exists and is helping hundreds of disabled kids to this day. They moved out of this old campus and relocated and they have day programs and residential living houses for the people. They seem to do really good work and help many clients.

Where do you find such awesome music? I'm about halfway through, and I already got chills. I love old buildings like this, even more when they still have power. I's sad to see a building like this in such poor condition, but i am glad that it still stands for you to explore it. Making the building immortal on the internet. Even if the physical building is demolished, we still have this and probably other videos documenting this building.
I would love to know when you went through here. The last month or 2 they have had construction crews working on the chapel and some of the other buildings. Not sure if someone finally rented/ bought the complex but it’s nice to see it being fixed up. It’s been neglected for far too long.

I researched this place and the institution itself still exists and is helping hundreds of disabled kids to this day. They moved out of this old campus and relocated and they have day programs and residential living houses for the people. They seem to do really good work and help many clients.
@@tarajones9675 Thank You so much for the research you did and that its still up and running. It does my heart good and full knowing that there is facilities out there to help our disabled. Again, Thank You very much. May you have a better than great day.
the size of that radiator in the stairwell at 21:25. I can just imagine the heat from it.
Microwave worked, should've brought some popcorn for a quick snack. I personally love asbestos-flavored popcorn.
Awesome joke dude
Don’t forget to add the lead paint salt

@@goat3898 Yep! The parasites add some extra protein too.
When you encounter old, abandoned places like that with power still on, you always have to wonder who's still paying the bill, and why.
The City just might not care
Sometimes the local government just doesn't care enough to send somebody out to turn the meters off.
Yep I always find it interesting. I guess it's the government paying it, and they don't care since it's tax dollars. They probably can't even account for most of their spending. You would think the hydro company would bring it up as a safety thing but guess they don't care either, they're getting paid.
The sound was done particularly well in this episode. The chapel was really nice and looks like it was from 1920ish, but I don’t think this place was that old.
I’d put that chapel at mid 20th century with some modifications.
I'm glad that the wonderful chapel is still relatively intact. Beautiful stained glass windows!
Nice closeup on the fire panel 31:00.
If we can get more shots of that kind of stuff, that would be cool!
Yes. I wonder what brand fire panel that is. I've never seen one exactly like that but it looks pretty old. I've seen a few Simplex panels in their videos before, their most recent one has a few nice shots of a 4005. I always pay attention to the fire alarm system/electrical equipment in these buildings and I wish they were shown more.
@@dylsmith2336 it look like a Notifier 4800 base on a reddit post
I grew up a few miles from this complex, the new developer is to renovate some of it and that is a good thing.
A beautiful video once more, thank you Proper People for taking us along on this journey!!
21:13 - 1970's mobile home interior! just cheap and tacky. LOVE the stair cases in that area though
Both you and BSF uploading this afternoon...good thing I've got time for both!
No freaking way... We inherited that EXACT piano shown at 6:40 from my husband's great grandma!!
Its pretty amazing just how well preserved this building was, the working lights also were pretty good. Nice video!
wow! that chapel was a vibe!
I LOVE the 1920's-1930's architecture. EVERYTHING was done with such thought and quality. as oppose to the cheap and tasteless crap we get these days.
I really can appreciate the proper people their explorers are very thorough and they explain a lot of things that they observe during their expirations these guys are probably one of the best explorer teams I have ever seen keep up the good work guys
14:25 If you listen carefully, you can hear a class A EVP in the background as he looks down the stair way. Sounds like "You hoo hey hey hoo. yeahhhhh."
As usual this was an awesome find !!! So many beautiful things that you discovered.....the chapel.....the front entrance.....the mosaic tiles .....and the old sewing machine !!! Couldn't believe the electricity was still on !!! Such a shame that this wonderful property is just going to ruin . Thx for sharing this with us!!!
14:27 EVP there was child talking when you went by the stairway
I heard this as well. As soon as I heard it I scrolled through the comments to see if somebody else did LOL.
YES! I heard it too! Sounded maybe like humming?
I heard it too!
@@kristinconti5865 yes humming with some other sound not sure though.
Wow! Good hearing. Had to go back a couple of times just to lesson. 👍🏽

That chapel looked like the architect was from Frank Lloyd Wright’s school. The design screams his influence. Sad to see it like that.
Amazing Architecture and a few different periods of architecture. I bet this place was expanded a few times. Amazing the Power is still on. Great Job guys, Love your work.
15:24 that looks like a Franciscan motif (the arm of Christ and the arm of St. Francis, both with the stigmata) So maybe a Franciscan order run this plase. The chapel looks amazing, even the stained glass is intact.
Glad you are wearing respirators the pipes were coated with asbestos too at 24:57
Never a disappointing explore. Thank you for all you do!👍🏼🤘🏼😎
I like when you guys show outdoor shots, both of the buildings themselves, and from inside the buildings of the surrounding area. It provides great context.
Not to be the resident comment mom but I'm really glad to see you guys using respirators especially since you ran into asbestos. Stay safe ❤️
I remember when you put a teaser about this video some time ago. I am glad that you finally uploaded it! Quality content as always!
Anyone else have a near death experience when the door bell was pressed? 😳
Yes!!
i’m waiting for that part but i probably will haha!
😬
The fucking intro never stops giving me the chills!! IN A GOOOD WAAAY! Omg!!! I’ve watched you since your first video! I cant stop 😩
I love these old school/asylum videos.
Another great video. That church was amazing.
OK..the doorbell got me, I thought someone was here at my front door..LOL The whole place is in remarkable shape, no real graffiti
I Love your videos Brian and Michael keep up the good work. 😃🙂
It amazing that some of that complex couldn’t be used. Also amazing how fast some of those areas went downhill. I’d so love to do what you are doing!
Its amazing how a building that looks so cool and essentially ok on the outside, is so completely ruined on the inside.
I was so happy to se no bars on the windows. Unusual for an asylum, and it is so bright also. Lots of natural light which is important for children
I would love to know when you went through here. The last month or 2 they have had construction crews working on the chapel and some of the other buildings. Not sure if someone finally rented/ bought the complex but it’s nice to see it being fixed up. It’s been neglected for far too long.
what was the name of this place?
@@noeldillard st coletta
@@crazychicken7125 It looks like there are multiple locations. Was this one in Wisconsin?
@@TheJoannalicious yes
Yes you are back with an awesome new explore. Looks a cool place and so much decay. When I see you have posted a new video I'm like there straight away when I come to TH-cam ... great explore guys. I often wonder who were the last people to be in the Asylum. Who drew that cell on the chalk board. These days they use smart boards all new tech. Doesn't it make you wonder how we survived the Asbestos begore it was banned, how did most of us not be affected by it. Wow guys the chapel is so beautiful .. isnt it a shame it wont ever be used again ... that stain glass window too. Such a shame. You guys don't do modernise with these older properties. Why do they change the old type buildings I love high ceilings old wooden stairs great decor the mosaic tiles and the grand entrances. Art decor is so wonderful and cool I just love that era ... buildings were better built in the olden days .. now they throw the buildings up and rush them and I don't think they have been done right. What was that sound at 31:34? Was it your breathing or a woman's hum? Very creepy.
7:26 Had to research the Beckwith Piano Co, and what I found is actually kinda hilarious. The Beckwith Piano and Organ brand was founded by Sears Roebuck as a "generic" brand of pianos. Nowadays, you have generic brands such as Great Value for many things such as food, towels, home remedies, etc. But to make an entire line of generic pianos (to me) sounds like something so outrageous that I can't help but laugh.
ayyy you were in my birth state(s) of Wisconsin/Illinois! (i live in Florida now) for privacy reasons, i won’t disclose the location of this facility, but awesome explore. WI has tons of abandoned places and honestly the Midwest is a treasure trove of great Urbex, especially in the Minneapolis - Milwaukee - Chicago - Detroit corridor. you guys are A1 in terms of Urbex and my favorite TH-cam channel. cheers.
Some of these places look almost too normal, like with only a marginal amount of cleanup you wouldn't know they were abandoned.
Crazy how it is abandoned but the lawn looks like it was just mowed. Hum.
@@jaysmith179 usually government workers mow lawns of abandoned buildings especially ones that are out in the open like this one. Usually abandoned places that have high grass and not mowed lawns are far away from public view or isolated.
Wow glad you guys had your respirators
0:39, anybody else notice the cemetery right next to the main building?? Gives me the creeps, especially with that Catholic school for natives up in Canada where they found over 200 kids bodies buried on the grounds.
Thank you for blurring out the names of the kids. It's forty years old yet you still went with humanity in details.
OMG! You guys are amazing! Thank you!
beautiful building, so much natural light
Hymnal at 14:50 is open to the music for the funeral mass. Did you stage it or was it left that way? Great shot in either case! Also, the canopy over the altar says: "Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus". In English: "Holy, Holy, Holy".
I love watching your explorations, especially when you're dodging the security people.😊
that is absoluty a amzing that the power is still on and things still come on
They stumble across a newspaper from the 1980's. I think it's no big deal, because I was a kid in the 80's. Then I do the math in my head. That was 30-40 years ago. That would be like kid me in the 80's finding a newspaper from the 1940's. That would blow my mind. I don't realize how insane some of this stuff is that they find until I do the math, and put it into a perspective 10yo me from the 80's would understand.
Around 29:29 those hallways and rooms looked really bad with the mold or whatever that was. Those areas looked truly abandoned. Kinda cool looking to.
I just discovered you guys!! Bored out here and wish I can explore like this. But because I cant rn I just binge your videos!
How can I contact you?
I explored this a few times.. I live close.. its cool to see you guys go thru one of my spots..
Thanks for being super discrete about the location!
23:57 Hey, a Wisconsin place! I'm from there. I wonder where this is...
EDIT: Someone else commented that this is where (or near where) Rosemary Kennedy spent her life from '49 to her death in '05, which would put it in Jefferson, in between Milwaukee and Madison. Fascinating.
Being a musician I think you always pick the appropriate music for your asylum explorations and by my ears the piano sounds stuffed
