Thank you Molly a very helpful video, not only with that wee harp but common with many lyres too. Lyres have no bridge pin but the tuning pins often slip. This is so helpful, especially for the pin tight glue.

Such a lovely warm smile and so sweet and sincere you obviously love your Harps what a beautiful talent to have to be able to play the Harp that King David played to his flocks of Sheep when he was a young man before He was anointed to become the King of Israel I am truly inspired by your blessed gift from god’s graceful hands

I had that problem on my Aklot harp and I figured out exactly what you said. This is a great video though because someone who doesn't have experience with building/modifying instruments may not intuitively know that. Great advice!

I'm so glad you figured it out! I feel bad because this is probably one of those issues that would make it unplayable if you didn't figure out the trick, so I hope this helps someone 😊

@@MusicalMollyKhan Yeah. I wonder those things as well. Being a multi-instrumentalist and DIY'er, I know how to tinker but a complete beginner would probably just send it back thinking it was defective.

Very informative! Thanks a million for this video! Got the exact same problem with my Lotkey harp I bought on Amazon. Cheers!

Thank you, Molly! I changed the strings on my Aklot and the lower C pin kept slipping. Your trick worked :)

Hi! any chance you could share a link to the tuning key you are using? I bought this harp second hand and it did not come with one 😭

Thank you SO much! I just got this exact harp as a Christmas gift and I knew the strings would stretch for a while, but the pegs were starting to slip backwards as soon as I'd turned them! This seems to have helped so much.
Do you have any recommendations for sheet music/music books for this kind of harp? It seems most are for lever or pedal harp. Thanks again!

My Lyre peg twisted into the lyre. How do I get it back out?

Thank you for the advice about the pin glue. I had already figured out the pushing in thing since I have played fiddle and banjo for many years

I had just this problem on my lowest G string (Aklot harp), glue was the thing that eventually fixed it. Now it's the low D that won't stay in tune- very frustrating, but I do love my harp dearly. This would have been so helpful when I got my harp last Christmas!

That is such a frustrating problem! I hope you can get the D to work now 😊

Hello thank you for this video I was wondering about this because I actually contacted Aklot about this issue and they told me to hammer the harp when I did this it fully broke the pegs popping out completely.. I contacted them again saying their suggestion didn’t work and they wound up sending me three more all of which did not stay tune and I’ll have the same issue.. so I started wondering if I could maybe superglue them.. I have not tried it yet however I did follow your link to the glue and I see it’s unavailable is there any other glue that you would suggest to do the trick?

Please, would very, very lightly tapping the tuning peg in with a hammer--working little by little--work, too?

Will this work on Lyre Harp pins as well?

Thank you. I got this harp a week ago. Sounds good in tune gets out of tune everyday. It has gotten better over a week so going to wait another week. I ended alao ordering a fireside harp with c and f levers should be here in less than 2 weeks.
