今回はバニューダ諸島のブライアン・ウェルマン選手を紹介します。彼は元室内世界記録保持者で17.72の記録を持っています。追い風参考記録では17.75の記録も持っています。彼の跳躍の特徴は何といっても高さのあるステップです。三段跳びは3歩の距離が均等に近いほどいい跳躍であるとされていますが、どんなに素晴らしい選手でもバラツキが生じます。実際にはジャンプ, ホップ, ステップの順に距離が小さくなるのですが、ウェルマンはステップが一番飛距離があるのではないかと疑うほどに体が大きく浮きます。まるで空中でもう一回浮いてるみたいです（笑）
