"Planning sin is a sure sign of a calloused heart.".......that hits home. Dear Lord, I pray that you please remove the callous from my heart, soften it and open it to you. Let your word seep in and fill it.

I love what you said. Proverbs 31 is always one of those passages that you look at and say who could live up to that? I am so glad that if we just focus on trusting God, then He will strengthen us. He is the one who enables us to do what we do and do it well. He grants us the wisdom to navigate life in the right way.

Aloha and good morning BR family. Proverb 31:30, "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised". All praise and honor to God; He is where the JOY is!!!

Isn't it beautiful how God's word speaks to everyone differently at different times, today Proverbs 31:17 really stood out to me. I've been trying to get healthier and pray every day for His strength to continue so I can be healthy enough to continue getting out and sharing the Gospel with the lost and to be able to enjoy my grandkids!!! I've loved vs 30 since becoming a Christian too. Bless you all and have a wonderful day 🙏🙏🙏

I enjoyed hearing that prov 31 woman meant over her life, not necessarily all at the same time. Worker at home, worker outside of the home. Certainly puts it in perspective & easier connected w reality

It's important that "we open our mouths with wisdom and on our tongues lie the law of kindness" 31:26
Kindness because the world is already cruel and everyone needs to be treated with love. Wisdom because if you're able to see someone who's going through a lot, even though you might not understand, wisdom will help you speak the right words to lift his/her spirit rather than demeanour the person.
With these two things in(on) our lips, the world will be a better place.

  • @jeffandvikipendergrass

"Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him." - Prov 30:5
It is interesting that the mother's advice to her son is about women and drinking. Solid advice.
I used to read Proverbs 31 and feel like a failure for not measuring up, but I didn't feel that this time. I recognize I am still a work in progress and will be until my last breath. I see myself now in some of these verses and pray to be more like the Wife of Noble Character.

Wow. I never felt inadequate from chapter 31. I always looked at it as full of possibilities as a woman of God and how I should behave in any of those situations. It was freeing knowing that God has given us wisdom and capability to do all of these things in whatever season of life we need to do them.

Proverbs 30 is a reminder to everyone that we are to walk in integrity. Do not slander. Honor your parents. I am also reminded that all of God's word is true. It is a shield that we can refuge in, and we are not to add to it (30: 5-6). We are to be productive. I have prayed what is in 30: 8 , to have what I need and not more, to not have poverty or riches. God has been faithful in this, and I have everything I need, and I have learned to be content with what I have. Chapter 31 lists the many attributes of a godly woman. She takes care of her household. She also works outside of the home. She is wise in her business dealings. She gives to the needy. Her children call her blessed, and so does her husband. She fears the Lord. These are attributes not just for the woman but for all believers.
That is such a good point from Tara-Leigh. Walking in the fear of Lord means that our lives point others to Him.

What other major faith or religion honors and elevates women, because they are made in the very image of God? “Tell me if you know!” (Prov 30:4). The Proverbs 31 woman is not like Solomon’s “primary wife,” the daughter of Pharaoh, in that she is not a woman of leisure and luxury. Like God Himself, she is organized, diligent, wise, purposeful-and humble. Prov 30 gives us examples of God’s ways that are deeply embedded, and that we can’t understand. In the same way, the Prov 31 woman has the character of the Father stamped in her nature, and we look at who God has made her to be and say, “There are three things [about her] that amaze me, no-four things I do not understand” (Prov 30:18). God’s image in a godly woman is both beautiful and mysterious.

Proverbs 31-- yes, this is wisdom literature and not to be taken as law, as a woman/wife it is a nice thing to aspire to, BUT I was also taught that references to "wife" in the bible also represent the follower(s) of Christ (who is the bridegroom).
So if you reread this Proverb envisioning the wife as a "Christ follower" and the reference to 'husband' as Christ, it has a whole new, more impactful meaning. ❤

  • @AshleyRDB
    @AshleyRDB ปีที่แล้ว +9

Notice how the woman in Proverbs 31 puts her husband 1st. She does all this for her husband to please YAH. As a biblical woman, don't forget who you were made for.

  • @karenevans6035
    @karenevans6035 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

We almost halfway through the Bible at this point.
Psalm 30- He compares his wisdom to God’s wisdom He says in comparison he has none. Vs 4- prophetic- what is His name and His sons name? We know! It’s Jesus!
We have to know what God says done know what is true. The more we read His words the more we will be able to spot the counterfeits. Identify the real truth.
He asks God to keep him honest and keep him from sin.
Planning sin is a sure sign of a callused heart.
    Proverbs 31
King Lemuel- prob a pen name for Solomon.
Wisdom passed from the kings mother to her son.
Vs 2-3 what are you doinh my son what are you doing? Don’t give your strength to women. Solomon let his lust over power him and destroy his kingdom.
Proverbs 31 woman is ideal. This probably spans her entire life, not a 24 hour period. Take note of the wisdom in her heart and what she values.
She has a great work ethic. She’s supportive.
    She trusts God.
She lives in the fear of the Lord. She doesn’t fear tomorrow.
Her life points to the hero and that is God.
Reliance on God shows the source of our strength who
    is God Himself.
He is the one to be praised.

Amen! I think a lot of time we women try to "live up" to this Proverbs woman when in actuality it is God who is doing it all with her! If we just live our lives with Him at the forefront of our minds then we are living the Proverbs 31 woman life!!!
