High rise buildings in the middle of the map are the most important, recon and atgms there can control the side zones. Fighting for the flanks early on seems counterproductive since they are separted both from the key adventageous positions on the map and majority of the zones.
it really isnt, if you keep both flank zones you get a +1 p you can push through them into a rear zone + if the enemy response you can fight them into a fight in your favour and if they dont you often can sneak units on their spawn roads. For heavier divisions the middle is a massive trap against divisions with better inf. British inf like rifles would with law 80s would have eaten my ifvs and lightly armored tanks for breakfast.
