Ty for helping
How many years of experience do u have sir? Seems like you have been teaching for a decade :)
I literally yelled hallelujah when I saw that you had a guide to Box and Whisker Plots. My daughter waited until I got home to ask me how to do this and I looked at her notes and was so confused. Lol. I knew that I could count on you and you wouldn't let me down. As soon as you began explaining it I saw the light bulb come on for my daughter. Thanks for always having awesome videos for us to fall back on. God bless you.
Wow, awesome! Love this comment and love to hear that this video was helpful. The “light bulb” is always a great thing. I really appreciate the positive feedback and you taking the time to comment.
It's crazy how my teacher said it takes like 2-3 days to teach this yet I learned in like 30 minutes.
You got to consider how many students there are in a class. How concentrate the students are in classroom. The willingness of learning of those students. The background knowledge those students have. There are many factors effecting school learning.
Teaching moves just a bit faster than the slowest 3 kids in class.
Two days is actually a pretty good pace for this collection of concepts for a classroom. You'll have kids that will need to be taught how to find averages, and that's as far as they can get with that lesson.
I’m in class rn and my teacher didn’t even teach it ☠️
They probably didn’t teach it because “You probably won’t see it again” -my sixth grade teacher unless you were in like 2 things I forgot
We don’t care
Tyy test is literally tomorrow ❤
Thank you Mr.J! This really helped me understand box plots a lot more and makes me more confident for my state testing! 😊

How cool is that learning this in less than 30 minutes. I've been thinking this box and whisker plot for days now because we have an academic reporting and I don't understand this one. This video helps me so much thank you!

That was so clear and felt so genuinely explained. Sounded like something that could have alot to it early on, but not as hard as I assumed, and I look forward to applying and understanding it, going forward. Thanks!

Thanks Mr.J, I was struggling with this lesson & my exam is tomorrow 😅.
You are awesome!!
When I was first introduced to this, I had more than 1000,000,000,000 question marks above my head, and now ALL of them are gone! This vid was sooo helpful!
very good explanation.
YOUR THE BESTSTT
watching this 2 hours before exam to revise, really simple and great explanation!
You are a King! Thank you.
Isn't the upper whisker limit should be 1.5*IQR + Q3 rather than maximum? In this case the upper whisker should be 19.5, not 18 right? Same applies for the lower whisker
Yes, that is also correct. Using the minimum and maximum is a more straightforward approach, but again, that way will work as well.
even if you decide to take the IQR approach it doesn’t necessarily have to be 1.5 IQR + Q3. It is the upper boundary. In our case, it already exceeds the maximum value so the max whisker would either way be 18. The same applies to the minimum whisker.
thank Sir!
wow now I get it
ILY MR J
Very useful. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I missed school but needed this lesson for a test and you explained it perfectly!
Thanks for uploading 🙏🏻 really helped me 😊❤

Nobody cares
Thank you sooo much for this video
THX, what about outliers, how we get them? how we decide how is an outliers?
outlier would be
10, 12, 16,21 the outlier is 21 because theres a big difference between 21 and the other numbers
Thank you for all that you do! I am 38 and I’m trying to get into nursing school. Is there any way you can lump sum the math for what is on the TEAS test?
W Mr.J js finished my homework
TYSM my math teacher explained this so badly
IM TELLING UR TEACHER when you tell me where she is.....
thank you so much
Thanks for posting this video i really wanted it today I have an exam about it. Tysm Mr.J
WOW, so simple to understand, thank you. I subscribed right away 👍
Thank mr jay daddy
Just recently introduced to box plots. Is there a simple way of creating a line joining the mean value across multiple data ranges. I.e Month on month ( that doesn’t involve ggplot or anything else too technical 😂 )
I gonna do state testing
the best of all
The way I find the exact middle of two numbers is that I take the difference the divide that by two then add that to the minimum
This helped a lot! Thanks so much!!! 😄
Thank you so much I was going to fail my acap
LOVE THIS TEACHER MADE ME GET A 100% IN MY TEST
Tyyyyyyy❤
Thank you so much because your channel has been helping me learn math in schools so thank you for that
I finally understand this, thank you so much!
Tysm! You've got a new sub!
U help a lot and ur better at teaching and my teacher teaches the same thing as u
Is there a difference between box plot and outlier box plot?
Bouta take the psat and i forgot about these
Perfectly explaned!
Had to help my sis with mean, median, mode, and range for her homework. Then we got to box plots which I have never seen prior to now. I get now tho
thank you so much for this video
Mr j out here saving my grade
I'm so glad I found this video you explain better then my teacher 😮
This helped me study for my quiz in math thanks!

Is it possible to have three quartiles? On my homework it says: Min, Max, Q1, Q2, Q3.
Q2 is just median
preparing me for my eog,THANK YOU
how do we solve this ? Consider the following set of data;
0.87, 0.88, 0.91, 0.92, 0.86, 0.91, 0.90, 0.93, 0.82, 0.89, 0.87
Construct and interpret a box-and-whisker plot for this data
do we need to keep the duplicated data? i mean the number 3 is repeated.
yes, we do. Duplicates are in this case valid data points that affect our distribution.
bro teaches better than my irl math teacher
