I make frames with a number of different parts and I've been trying to create a sheet that would give a total of all the parts I need so thank you for this. Question, to make it work for me do I just substitute what you used as comp numbers with actual part numbers?
Is there a way to create a BOM with hierarchy? Essentially a Top to Bottom Level Assembly with indentures that includes collapsing each level as such? I've been looking everywhere and can't seem to find a video to guide me. Thanks!
My ingredients come in variable sizes/weights (KG, Grams, Litres, Gallons) how can this be accommodated as some of these ingredients are used on multiple final products but are stocked as bulk volumes/weights.
@@excelhighway3549 That is challenging, as example, we make a pre-rolled non-cannabis product that uses.5grams of dried hemp, infused with .003% CBD distillate, uses 1 pre-roll paper and a crutch/filter, placed 3 to a slider box, labeled, slider box is placed into a myler pouch and sealed/labeled, and 12 of these put into an inner case, and labeled, and 4 inner cases placed into a Master Case, which gets 2 labels. Kg’s will only come into play when calculating the pallet configuration prior to shipping. The distillate is the only input purchased by weight, all other requirements are purchased as counted quantities, which may have minimum order quantities as well so we also need to take into consideration any inventory we have in hand, and re-calculate the amounts to buy/not buy to manufacture a minimum production run. The inputs to all product lines have similar challenges. We actually purchase internationally, to build the final product so we need to use: Lbs, oz., KG, Grams, ml, Ltr., and individual counts for hard goods.

Yes, comp and prod numbers should be replaced but actual items.

How do the opposite? You have the component stock, then into which Finish good item could to produce?
This is called a where used report. I started working on that and will post a video about that in the future.

You should probably always use the same unit. Only use KG and Litres for example. That way it's clear if you want to make changes.
