It wouldve been a great counter to the Nebelwerfers and Stukas. 2-3 AT GUNS at the middle island, would prevent any Axis vehicles and allowed his Engineers to repair the foot bridges so he can move snipers across.

This map just has a massive WW1 vibe, loads of men dying in choke points, with constant artillery bombarding the other side, especially if you're playing Brits because you can build a load of slit trenches to make the WW1 feel even bigger
and you know the beat part. the CoH community is so great. Lots of fair games and very few hackers. Also if youre ever on around stop by the game replays chat for some wise words by Mr.Sneakyman

Noob question: why build tank traps on the narrow footbridge? It's too small for a vehicle anyway isn't it, and tank traps don't stop infantry. I know there must be a good reason; I just don't know what that reason would be.

the map is quite in favor for the wehrmacht. it's too easy for them to quickly destroy a bridge. and they also got better arty + given the fact that the amis can't build their howitzers far enough in the back to be save =P
A few of the small number of matches that I've played of CoH was on a stupid bridge map. They had a tank trap on their foot bridge like 30 seconds into the game and they won the game because because my team couldn't flank across the foot bridge or break through the one other way onto the island. I think it's kind of stupid that you can effectively lose on a bridge map within the first minute or so.
Krebs or anyone else. How do I counter the Wehrmacht in maps like Achelous River and other "bridgy" maps? The walking stukas and the nebelwerfers crushes everything and all the bridges.

Played this map a few days ago on aniahlate or how ever its spelled and it ended with everyone quiting after 2 and a half hours of artillery shooting back and forth.

It's not fair, Germans can destroy it with one shot while allies need more than 3 to 4 barrages to destroy it.

It's an CoH: ToV is an expansion pack to CoH. So you get some more units and three mini campaigns.. and I think some new multiplayer game types.
Man, that KrebsCOHO guy played really well, maybe I'll go and try to find him on TH-cam...

Because it actually blocks infantry 'cos the bridge is so narrow.
At the start Red had right idea, Purple started well too, Blue should of backed up Purple from the get go.... Germans block left foot bridge.

There's definitely a small window of opportunity the allies can benefit from but I would concede that it is a marginal one
