I appreciate Crane recognizing he bubbled him and didn't open fire, but realistically he shouldn't of come in that hot in the first place. A more experienced cop in that situation likely brakes about 30 feet further back and swerves the ass of their car out to give himself some cover to fire from. He put himself directly in the middle of an open gunfight and in a position where friendly fire is far more likely to occur.
