WOHOOOO! BYE BYE ORANGE BRICKS !!! Excuse meeee, I'm too excited!!! I've been waiting for this moment since I bought my house and the time is finally here. In today's video, I am using the limewashing technique to give my 1950'S brick exterior a complete facelift. We powerwash the house to get it clean and fresh. Also, we tackle my gravel walkway. And wanna know the best part?? We are doing it all on a BUDGET!!! :) YAY!!! Saving money is always a WIN!

Oh...yeah, I was thinking that too, bc of the railing, and snow, ice just to be able to connect the railing.

looks amazing! if it’s in the budget, paint the windows and shutters black or the shutters a pop of color. Also try removing the shutter for the bay window- it will truly showcase the beautiful window! again amazing job

I loved EVERYTHING you did you your house so far but the walk way just doesn’t look right to me for some reason. I think it should have been wider but hey it’s your house not mine lol.
Everything looks so good. I really think though that the walkway should be the width of the front stairs.
You might want to consider making the walkway a little wider in front of the steps. However, It looks great! ❤️🥰 I love family projects!!!

What about putting large paving stones in the walkway to add character.
It would also be great for if people are wearing heels. The gravel would be too challenging and scuff up their shoes.
Everything looks so nice. I would definitely consider getting a second handrail and widening the pavers near the stairs for safety reasons. But I love the gravel color and paint color it all looks very classy!

I’m an old grandmother and I say Marcus is a keeper. He is hard working and you both work well together towards a common goal! The house is looking sooo nice! Maybe the front door would look nice in “Tiffany blue?” If not that then, “Robin’s egg blue?” Both of those colors are gorgeous if the color blue is your thing.

I think you should've centered the walkway or at least had the outer line come from the handrail, so if someone needs to use it, they still can walk down to the walkway. But it always comes together! Let me continue watching. Lol

Please bring the curve to the far side of the steps. If not, it's going to look from facing the house that the stairs have been split in half! That would be awkward visual. If you make the pathway continue to the left of the house it will be more cohesive.

Love it but the walkway on the steps looks weird as it ends in the middle of the step and the width should be at least the same width as the rest of the path. It does not need to be the width of the step but should be slightly wider and centered on the step.

Kayla I really love watching your videos. You're doing an amazing job on your house! Just a couple comments/suggestions; I would have centered the walkway with the porch to ensure use of the handrail, and avoid a tripping hazard. In the walkway I also would have inserted 🤔 maybe 24×24 (depending on width of your walkway) step pavers (they come in different shapes) using the 89 gravel as a filler, so your heels don't sink in the gravel - and again to avoid tripping hazards.
The limewash on the house looks fantastic!,...though I'm not sure how I feel about it on the porch. Its a little distracting, maybe a darker color?

Terracotta, medium gray, olive green, a pretty matte color just some suggestions. The gravel sidewalk should be even with the steps. Well i truly love all that you do and share. Wow, y’all doin’ the damn thang! I’ve never painted anything, especially a house. I think the gravel walk could have been the same width as the porch, but Chile, it’s your house not mine. Overall, I love it!
I'll be tackling painting the outside of my entire house soon. We are about to close on a new build and I hate the color so changing it is one of the first things I'll be doing. It's a fiber cement board so it will probably need two coats. I'll also be painting tons of furniture and the entire inside of my house as well, including the cabinets in the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room. So, yeah, I know the amount of effort that goes into it but I'm a stay at home mom w two school aged kids so while they're in school, I'll be working on it every day. I'll be using a paint sprayer though.
Your house looks amazing!! You guys really pulled off that walk way. I still think black steps and shutters would look classic with a front door color pop of whatever you choose. Either way I’m sure whatever go decide will all look great in the end. Thanks for sharing, really enjoyed the video!

Yeah that walkway should be wider and whatever you paint the door ...u should paint the shutter the same....too many colors plus maybe flowers or flowering hedges might be too many colors ...the eyes will have no place to rest.....coordinate your front like u did the inside ....u doing a great job I enjoy watching your progress

I like, it all came out well!! My only concern is that the walkway is not wide enough leading up to your steps. Its narrowing coming around the curve to connect to your doorsteps.
It looks great, I always start with taking the shutters off first and then repainting them. Before you power wash. But it turned out great anyway!

And they grow best on the north/northeast side of a home or building. Hydrangeas are my very favorite flower we grow here in the Deep South. So beautiful! And they will be gorgeous against your lime washed brick. The house is looking great. ❤️

The point of brick is to never have to paint the beautiful reddish bricks.
Looks good! Have you considered putting pavers down in the gravel area so that you (or anyone) can walk without getting rocks in their shoes or their heels sinking in? I can't wait to see the finished look.

That's a great idea! Like a little pathway within the pathway. Would only take like 8 or so pavers. Pretty easy addition!
You can space them out to walk specific walk and place them square or diamond angle!

Kayla girl. I have loved everything you have done with the house. The work you did on the walkway looks great, but its a distraction, needs to go all the way to the end of the steps and the railing, and stones not good to walk on with heels, but your house your choice. Overall you guys have done a fantastic job.

I would have done a wider area of walkway at the base of the steps but hey if you find that you don’t like the current set up it’s an easy change right?! Your drive and charm are off the charts! Your home is looking beautiful - your hard work is paying off! Might I chime in and suggest stepping stones up your gravel path? This will not only save your heels but aide in less gravel levelling in your future. They nestle quite easily into the gravel and are relatively inexpensive. I can't wait to see the continued progress! Great job!
