Seeing these guys live, without having heard of them before that, was an incredible experience. Instantly became my favourite metal band. The headliner was Gojira and after the show all I could think about was Alien Weaponry. I never buy shirts at gigs but I went straight to the stand to buy theirs.
Hongi Hika was a warrior chief..he massacred /conquered huge swaths of New Zealand through the use of guns supplied by the English in an attempt to destabilize the tribal balance ..this caused years of land wars and the deaths of thousands of people..this video is a war story of the power of Hongi Hika an ancestor of these guys..powerful stuff for shore and a lesson in history..
im so early??? anyway i love ur reaction and your input! I havnt heard of this topic but im excited to see it plus your reaction and commentary! stay healthy!
That is a Priest with that skull...Priests were known as tohunga. Māori scholars were usually the ones slaughtered, in battle, they lived away from the village, and only young virgins were allowed to feed them they were not allowed to be touched.
I LOVE this song and band. Been a fan of them for a few years now. Here is another killer New Zealand Maori band I love. th-cam.com/video/BSNb1LXXk40/w-d-xo.html To answer your question, the band is telling a significant point of history. One of my best friends is a Maori woman from New Zealand. Some of the stories she has shared with me is as heart breaking as what was done to Canada's Indigenous peoples.
So this shows the waring our people had when the musket come into our possession this is two tribes or tribe vs raiding party should watching the musket wars in nz or anything Māori history just so you can understand us as a people 🫶😁❤

The story is about their own people, ancestors .These young men are Māori
Maori metal 🤘🏽 these guys are young too. This is an amazing band
Ohh yeah. They were around 15-16 when this was recorded
Sometimes the point is for the viewer to investigate more.
