​​Instituto Cervantes | Benengeli 2024: International week on Literature in Spanish ​

Benengeli: Join us at the only literary festival that travels the 5 continents. Guests at OBA: the authors José Angel Mañas, Valeria Correa Fiz and Mark H. Stokmans.
The Benengeli festival is a unique event in the Spanish language due to its global dimension. The network of the Instituto Cervantes is activated during the week of its duration, from the 10th to the 14th of june 2024, as the brain of the festival. A unique neuronal network that expresses the best ideas, with the best words, of a representative collection of Spanish-language literature that travels the 5 continents during these days. More than 110 authors from 24 countries will discuss, reflect, write and speak in our language and about our language. Some in front of an audience. Others through the radio or in online form.
On the 14th of June, at the OBA Theater, we are fortunate to count with the authors José Angel Mañas, Valeria Correa Fiz as well as Mark H. Stokmans who were invited by Instituto Cervantes Utrecht. Alejandra Mahíques will be moderating the event. The central theme of this year is “Literature: humor or tragedy”, the invited authors will reflect on whether these old categories are still valid in contemporary creation in the Spanish language.
