Listen, Amerie is far superior. She has a name that still can ring out and a slew of hits. No shade to Naomi but this video is DOA because practically no one knows who Natalie was/is. A true definition of a non-factor all around.

Her 2nd studio album was supposed to release back in 2013 (with American Girl being the lead single. Still a bop to this day!!) and was considered her comeback as a recording artist after being a songwriter to others but the album was ultimately shelved by Epic. She rerecorded the entire album and was finally released independently this year

As far artists who took the longest to release their first album go there's British singer Alexis Strum who was meant to be the next big thing in pop music in the early 2000's, her debut single was released in 2003 but it flopped and she was dropped by her label and the album was shelved, a few years later she recorded another album but yet again she was dropped by her label before the album was supposed to be released, the two albums she recorded wouldn't be released until 2023
