- WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! - FULL TOUR of our 200 year old traditional stone COTTAGE. (Moving to Ireland)
This is it folks, we FINALLY have the keys to our dream home in Ireland! We cannot wait to share this ancient traditional stone cottage with you, and we can now give you the full house tour!
It's going to be quite the restoration project, as we attempt to take this little Irish cottage back to its original state (with some modern comforts of course) but the plan is to use traditional as much as possible materials such as lime plaster and horse hair!
It's going to be quite the learning curve, and one hell of a journey, but we are hoping to make our little homestead as off grid as possible as we build a life in remote Ireland, we do hope you're coming along for the ride, something tells me its gonna get interesting.. hit subscriber to see how we go!

I'm a grown man of 52 this year and I will admit to having happy tears in my eyes watching this, your complete happiness and joy. I will probably never get to live my dreams so you go girls and live it for me, so heartwarmingly happy for all 4 of you x.

Congratulation girls. Myself and my wife we are Polish but living in Ireland for the last 20 years, so we call ourselves Irish by now :-) Only 3 years ago we fulfilled our dream of a house in the countryside. We are only 10mins form the next small town, but the house in nature is amazing especially having 3 year old twin girls which enjoy the surroundings a lot. Ireland is beautiful and people here can't compare with any other country they are just amazing. Weather could be better ,but you can't have everything in your life :-)

The Excitement and Happiness you are both giving out in this video brought tears to the eyes of this old man. I haven't seen anyone so happy for so many years you two are just a joy to see. Thanks for allowing me to see how great life can be after all the stresses youve endured on the way to this fantastic day. Change the locks Lou. Em will never feel safe there alone without you putting a decent lock on the door. Grandad advice - always change the locks you never know who has been handed a copy of the old ones.

I’m 1st generation American. Dad from Co Tyrone Mom from Dublin. They brought all 6 kids from Brooklyn to Trillick Co Tyrone in 1970 to an old Station House in the middle of the country -no electricity. We survived and were stronger for it. This is a FABULOUS property you own girls!! Wow! Excited to be along for the entire journey. Lots of videos. We don’t care if they are unedited ! We want to see everything! ❤🫶🏼👏🏽🏡🛁🔧⚒️🛋️🚽🤸♀️

The positive side of your new home is that you have a lifetime to upgrade it. Enjoy!!!
My tip is dont gut everything to start with, i did that and ended up taking nearly 2yrs before i could move in. I would suggest concentrate on the outbuildings, do the workshop you will need it, do the office space so you have somewhere comfortable in the day and evenings, dont touch the bath and the kitchen till last. Sleep in the van if worried about the mould, and then even though you are ripping the walls, try to concentrate on a room at a time. Obviously roof first but you know that already. Also the damp could just be as its empty.. if you get the fires working and heat clean and air it, it might be okay

You can see that AJ and Summer KNOW that this is their house and they are so glad to have the space. Your new place is gorgeous. I know it will take a lot of work but that will only prove to make it more "YOURS".

Dehumidifier,gas cooker, a small generator and a water butt outside incase of blackouts from storms in Ireland .These are a must for rural living. 😊

So excited for you girls. We moved to France 4 years ago, into a farmhouse with lots of out buildings. I carried on my business as a handyman and gardener and love it over here. I remember the first day we came over with our caravan. We were so excited and that excitement has never left us. I hope you are as happy as we are, take care and look forward to your videos and adventure.

AJ & Summer literally acted like they knew this was their home. That was a joy to watch both of them getting inside for the first time.❣️ Summer is going to be the Queen of the Manor for sure. I have two leash trained kitties myself - Charlie and Kiva. I bet they would just love summer.

It is going to be so amazing...whatever, it IS amazing. I totally approve and know that you two can do the majority of the work yourselves. I did restoration of old homes wth my partner for twenty years. You learn as you go, and it is worth every moment in the end.

There are good few grants or cheap loans available for home renovations, ie, replacing lead pipes, solar energy, local authority purchase and renovation loan for derelict properties, etc.
Check them all out.

Congrats ladies, and welcome Ireland 🇮🇪. That would have been considered a decent sized house back when it was built. A labourers cottage, would only be a single room with a loft above. This was probably a freeholders farm.

Hello, good to see your enthusiasm for renovating the cottage. I have renovated 3 properties in FRANCE all stone built and with compacted earth floors. Now a bit of reality you will need to damp proof the floors and insulate the external walls. Stone built walls no matter how thick are a heat sink. Don’t be mislead by going for a natural wall appearance,in winter you need to be warm in your hose.
Old stone buildings need to 'breath' therefore they need a special insulation board that won't trap moisture in. The board recommended to me was called 'Calcitherm'. Hope this helps! Looking forward to following you on your exciting journey. Best of Luck and welcome to Ireland!

Oh girls, how wonderful!! My retired (then) parents bought a cottage nr Ballineen in Co. Cork, we were told it had a good roof. No door, no electricity, no water!!!! They LOVED it, but, found the neighbours too friendly, the one neighbour cycled down fro. The farm a couple of miles away!!!! They didnt last!
That's just the sort of thing I would loved to have done, but, a husband in the army wasn't keen on roughing at work AND at home!!!
