Amazing play of course by Harrison, but the wall of steelers that formed after the INT gives me chills. A true team effort and one guy who refused to stop until he got to the endzone

He did. The misconception here is that when Larry Fitz tackled him, Harrison's knee landed on Fitzgerald's crotch and was not legally down as a result. So the touchdown counted by his momentum then rolling into the endzone. Al Michaels and John Madden explain all of this in this exact video lol

Couldn’t have said it better myself! Add to that this play being an incredibly rare “walk-off” TD*, the highest scoring play (by far) in NFL Postseason history per Pro-Football Reference’s Expected Points metric, & a key play to make Pittsburgh become the first NFL team to win 6 Super Bowls. It even kinda resembled one of the game’s most beloved institutions the “fat guy TD.”**
*Walk off for the end of the half, not the game.
** James Harrison is actually totally shredded, so much so in fact, he looks like a Ninja Turtle with his shirt off. Watching this play, it’s not just his size: big, or his speed: slow, but also all the rumbling, bumbling, & stumbling he had to do just to get to the endzone - where he promptly passed out, more than earning his own bottle of that sweet, sweet victory oxygen.

He says that he faked in order to create space for Timmons to get in (which he does) and then dropped on his own accord even though he could have blitzed because he felt he would not get there on a blitz given how fast Kurt was getting the ball out to that point.

This never, ever, ever gets old. I've said it a hundred times and I'll say it again...This is the greatest play in Super Bowl History. Eighteen seconds in the half, no second chance, all gas no brake. The game winning catch from Big Ben to Santonio Holmes was great, top 5, but it took a second chance as the first fade to the back left corner fell incomplete, and then the next play was the game winner. However, if not for this herculean effort by James and the team, the Ben to Santonio TD would not have mattered. This is the play that allowed Pittsburgh to win. Don't forget about the Heart-attackle. This was when Jerome Bettis fumbled at the goal line, and Ben Roethlisberger made a shoestring tackle to help the Steelers go to the Super Bowl in Detroit. James Harrison's interception was definitely a big part of Steeler history. To have John Madden be the commentator was just icing on the cake for this other immaculate event.

pause the video at 1:51. The player is down by contact. The rule for down by contact is "When any part of a player's body other than their hands or feet touches the ground." At 1:51 the helmet is down, he is in the arms of the defensive player, and the ball has not crossed the goal line. Cool play though.

Watched this Super Bowl down at Wheeling Island Greyhound Track with my S.O. The race card was at 1:00 PM and over in plenty of time for the game. After the race card, the simulcast of other tracks was still going, so instead of going home or wandering over to the casino, everybody stuck around and watched the game from the little TV's at each table, or on one of the screens at the simulcast area.
When Harrison scored, the place went totally bonkers. Wheeling is only about an hour from Pittsburgh, so it was a primarily Pittsburgh crowd there..

This isn't about Harrison or football it's about life. Sometimes even fate or mountains can't stop something from happening. James Harrison was destined as a child to make this play. He got lucky right to the end where the ball stayed alive off of Fitzgerald's upper leg. No one was going to stop James on this play.
