Heyo, great review!!! I just wanted to point out that the flash back sequences actually depict his grandfather as a little boy, Not his father, and his great grand fathers is the abusive man.
First, fantastic lipstick color. Secondly, I've heard really great things about Jimmy Corrigan but haven't picked up any of his graphic novels just yet. I don't see this one in stories very often, although I will admit I haven't necessarily been looking for it. But this definitely seems really interesting
Thanks! Yes this one really surprised me, however it's very melancholic and Lord that tiny typography at times crossed my damn eyes! All in all a very worthwhile graphic novel reading experience.
frenchiedee At the moment I have just started Lolita, and I am loving it. It is my first time to read it and was not sure what to expect. It is a little creepy in places but very engrossing :D
Totally! I read it the first year I moved to France and couldn't get over how brilliantly it was written, even though creepy in places. That was 22 years ago. I will probably have to reread that one to see if I still hold it in high literary esteem. I probably do though. ;)

I have totally put this book off (for years) because of the "busy'ness" of the illustrations. Sounds like I need to give it a go!
I think you'd like it. Just keep the magnifying glass next to you.
Review of Jimmy Corrigan The Smartest Kid on Earth!
I like that it is in color, and the story sounds good, too.Great review as usual :)
I like d that too considering the subject matter is a little sad. I think that contrast was done on purpose.
Appreciate the story review, but it's the art I love!
