One of my favourite perch baits as taught to me by my dad is a fresh perch eyeball, only issue is you have to catch a perch big enough to be worth keeping before you can use it lol
Good times. Perch fishing is what got me hooked as a kid and i still love it to this day.

I use a sturgeon rig/slip rig! And I look for a deep water and a back eddy! Sandy shore
