I just purchased the X10....Great detector and the depth is excellent. One major improvement that should be should addressed is the USB port and the headphone jack should have been separated instead of being together under the same cap....If you use headphones, the USB port will be exposed to the elements..ie..rain. If water should get into it, then say goodbye to your detector. I purchased inexpensive rubber USB port protectors to help prevent it. Just a tip if you purchase the X5 or X10.
One year later???
I bought me a x5 about 2 weeks ago to use as a backup to My simplex and Are using it at the moment to try it out and do a few videos with the first one uploaded this week and I love it, i Even found a Nice little silver coin with it that Will be found in one of the upcomming videos, and it really picks up the small items too :)
I bought one yesterday! Not tried it yet, its for my sons birthday. I intend to borrow it ;-)

I got the 5. And the pointer is briiant, dont really need a pinpointer, other than for really small things😊👊

It's a very good thing indeed old chap. A friend purchased one from JA, has loved it, but was a teensy bit disappointed as there was no charger with it. All excited, he opened the box with glee, but was then stumped for several days. JA were all out of stock. Love your vids K, have cheered me up no end during a particularly grim time. Keep 'em coming. Are u going to do a Halloween vid in the creepy tunnel?

Hi which would you recommend for my 11 year old son and myself to buy as our first detector. We live on the North Wales coast so will likely use on the beach more than anywhere else.
Choices narrowed down to are Quest x5, Quest x10 or Vanquish 340.

I’ll say quest 5 but if you have the money for quest 10 go for it.
Also If you could, do you know what the difference between the two is? I know the quest 10 is better but in what ways

Hello, I’m wanting to buy a metal detector. I’m stuck between the Quest x5 and Quest x10. Which one would you go with? Is it possible to find gold coins with these machines? Is it possible to detect underwater with these machines? Would appreciate it if you could help me out :)
Hi, Brandon! I'd go with the X10, as it's an upgrade on the X5, with more features, for not much more money. As you can see in these videos, I've fallen in love with the X10 - its awesome.
Not waterproof, though. It is weather proof, which means its fine in the rain, and mud etc!

Hard to say Darren, as I haven't tried the Vanquish yet, and I'm not going to lie to you. I sincerely loved the X10 though, and the people who have brought one are also doing very well. You really can't go wrong for the price.
To give it more context, I gave my X10 away to a friend, but I'm missing it so much that I'm buying another one from JA with my own money, lol.
But again, I've havent used the Vanquish, although I have used the Nox for a very long time. Sorry I can't help more!

I put the Magic 9"by 13" coil on it and this thing goes deep with good vid#$ [ that coil is awesome]. It is also very stable even with my sense cranked up,and that's in town. To tell you the truth I do not think this baby would lose in any depth and vdi accuracy test to the likes of the t2 or similars,,until you bump up to a nox.

I started with a Ace 250. Used is for about two years. Found all kinds of stuff with it. Out grew it and upgraded to a Equinox 800. Completely different animal. I'm still learning the Equinox but it is an amazing detector.

Got mine today I must admit I am a bit disappointed in that some aspects it looks cheap, the coil mounting looks weak and lightweight the same goes for the armrest, I wonder how when the time comes if the battery can be changed it looks like you can on the x5 but not the x10. however I have not tested it yet, just assembled it
It is very lightweight and easy to swing it has good length adjustment it has pleasant feel to it, I am looking forward to trying it out
