Can't wait to try out the Doughboats next year. We did the Huka Jetboat in the rain ten years ago. It wasn't so much fun getting hit in the face by the raindrops at that speed! Loved the Shotover Jet though and looking forward to taking the kids on it this time! 🙌
We visited NZ at the start of winter, much the same weather as in this series. AND we did the Shotover Jet as well. BUT it was the Jet ride in Fiji, much warmer. We had 22 days Fiji, NZ, then OZ. NZ was great fun for us. We took our youngest, our only daughter, with us on this trip. The older kids, all boys in their teens declined. When they saw the videos, opinions changed... 😉!

It’s always good to keep something back for next time! I can recommend Barbary tours yacht on L Taupo for a trip out to the Maori carvings, although nice weather helps, as you can then swim off the yacht in Mine Bay near the rock carving! Enjoy, and thanks for the kiwi fix from the UK
A much better ride is available from the Rapids Jet which has a longer and more exciting ride downstream from the Aratiatia dam. riding the Ngawarapua Rapids
That was brilliant,that donut boat or whatever it's called,and the jetboat on the mighty Waikato River. Seeing as we're back in lockdown,why don't you guys do a vlog on travelling to the supermarket,haha. Anyhoo,with the rest of NZ in level 3,only us poor sods living in the Auckland area are just gonna have to dream of getting out and about and checking out this great country of ours.
Open sides on the DoBo, with a heater in the middle,seems counter productive, or did it actually heat that space,even with no windows or did it have some kind of side protection?.
The evaporation off that lake with the autumnal colours in the trees were all kinds of beautiful! I'd love the Huka Jet, it looked like so much fun and that water was insanely clear!! ❤️

Yes we were actually supposed to do that but the lake level was too low so our tour got cancelled. Looks like we'll have to go back in the summer 😊

A much better ride is available from the Rapids Jet which has a longer and more exciting ride downstream from the Aratiatia dam. riding the Ngawarapua Rapids
