The Steiner Screwdriver is one of my favourite moves ever! And you see Scott especially with smaller people would lift them up in the stalling suplex position then would throw them up, catching them into a sit-out Tombstone and it looked awesome! How he never broke someone’s neck is a testament to how good he was, there’s one online which takes place in the Tokyo Dome for NJPW and when he hits the move the Japanese crowd pop, now if you can make a Japanese crowd pop especially back in the early 90’s you know that you’ve just done something incredible! (Back in Scott’s younger years were a sight to behold the ones he did in TNA weren’t proper Steiner Screwdrivers, but Scott was older and had many back injuries and surgeries by then)

I love how Scott is completely embracing himself in front of the camera now. There's shades of the Big Bad Booty Daddy Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner still there. You can tell Scott is enjoying the hell out of his nephew Bron Breaker in the business. Rightfully so putting over his biggest fan back in the day. He said Bron would come over the next morning or whatever and recite his Big Poppa Pump Promos word for word. That's fucking awesome. Sounds like Bron was a long time in the making. Instead of Green Eggs in Ham. He was taught Peaks and his Freaks narrated beautifully by the word of The Man With The Largest Arms In The World. #HollerIfYouHearMe

like Scott said, incorporating new moves constantly is what made wrestling fun to watch in the late 80s/90s imo. i’m speaking specifically about the in ring action, it was so innovative and very competitive. i feel like now we’ve seen everything already, yeah sometimes someone might do a different twist on a move. The hard hitting is also lost in todays wrestling , like i get it they’re safer now but so many moves look so soft now a days. Jacob and Breakker are definitely intense and stand out for it.

In all fairness to Scott, MMA is “just matches”, boxing is “just matches”, NCAA wrestling is “just matches”, the Olympics is “just matches”, so YES people do watch just matches. But what made pro-wrestling “more” interesting is the story lines. But if your athletes are good and know how to perfrom then yes they could put on a good show.
Wish there was another current Steiner who could tag with Bron. I like him as a single but miss him tagging with Barron Corbin too. I think that added to his character.

The average person in America isn't going to buy that, though. Just the niche audience that likes that sort of thing. There's nothing wrong with it if that's the aim, but if you plan on growing your audience, then you need a lot of soap opera involved to further grow it. This isn't Japan where something like prime AJPW will get over and do big numbers here.

This is ridiculous, considering how many times he was thrown into matches in TNA with the only storyline was the main event mafia. Also, wwe throws matches together with zero story all of the time. The primal instincts of people has always been the desire to watch two individuals square off to see who is the better one. True real wrestling fans want to see the match with their favorite wrestlers irregardless of a story. Watching them talk endlessly back and forth for months just to add story is boring that's not what wrestling is. For whatever reason when Eddie guareo died wwe became a show filled with everything but wrestling. If I wanted a plot back story I'd just watch a movie read a book so stop with this ridiculous horse💩

Shooting on a company you don't work or haven't worked for is lame. Of course you can have an opinion and that's fine but don't trash it. These people bust their asses to entertain the world. Obviously their doing something right but to want people out of jobs bc you can only cater to another brand is trash behavior.

I don't know why people think AEW don't have storylines. Watch weekly shows they have short but in ring performance based storylines. Whatever WWE does isn't always only way to do. That's why there is two wrestling companies. Stop presenting WWE like they have no flaws.

@@samallex6484 That's nowhere near long enough. Yes I would. Promo school and a developmental could go a long way on that. Shorter match + more stories +promos = +75k at least more viewership. Save the long matches for the ppv's and use the weekly to build stories for 8-12 weeks. Some wrote themselves others will need some creative input. Still have matches, just not make those the focus. That's why you can't get enough in tv also. Matches are too long and you got 2 hours on Dynamite. Good luck with that

@@samallex6484 Nobodies asking them to put everyone on TV. That's not the point. In fact, people think they have way too many wrestlers on their roster and they're going to waste. The ones that aren't on TV are either fine because they're getting the paycheck or they're frustrated because they aren't being used. You don't need that many people on your roster to begin with. Secondly, AEW doesn't have a long term plan. This is directed towards Tony because he places more importance on "dream matches" rather than soap opera. His biggest weakness is not doing a good job with building up important matches to a PPV. He doesn't keep a feud going for a long period of time (and I mean something that actually lasts for a year or more) and just makes questionable decisions. They had Jeff Jarrett cut that emotional promo in that Owen Hart tournament (which he should have won) and made him lose on the first round to a returning "Hangman" Adam Page. What sense does that make at all? I was never big on Jarrett, but he would have been the reason why I'd even watch that simply because he gave me a reason to care. Jarrett understood the concept of telling a story because he's been with wrestling companies during their prime when they were making a lot of money. Tony simply doesn't because he grew up as a fan on the internet that was never taught by anyone on how to produce a wrestling show.

So you don't want more wrestlers to be employed and have work. Also, your big idea for a long term plan is adding the most boring thing to watch on television soap operas into the show putting us all to sleep. If I wanted to listen to people talking I'd watch regular TV you watch wrestling to see people actually wrestle foolio.

WWE and AEW are two different companies, under two different roofs. The WWE is theatre, AEW is wrestling. The WWE is seen on different platforms, RAW is on USA, Smackdown is on FOX(which is owned by Disney). The WWE also has a deal with Saudi Arabia to air their programming in that country. WWE is also on Peacock. AEW doesn’t have any of those kinds of platforms, and they’ve only been around for five years. AEW is the top rated show on both TBS and TNT, just like WCW was in the 90’s. I really wish the WWE “marks” and “stooges” would understand that. The WWE is 💩, it’s nothing but a bunch of talking throughout most of their shows. At the end of the day, the WWE is supposed to be wrestling, but today’s “fans” are too stu-pid to realize that the WWE isn’t wrestling. Now AEW is. And it’s obvious that you aren’t even watching AEW, they’ve had some of the greatest wrestling matches out there, and Tony Khan loves wrestling, unlike the WWE, where Vince McMachon banned both the terms “wrestling” and “wrestlers” since 1997. It’s only recently under the new owners that they’ve unbanned them. But I’m not sure why? It’s still theatre over wrestling. AEW made me a wrestling fan again.

Correct. Not to say that the wrestling isn't important, but people have to keep in mind that Dusty wasn't a good in-ring wrestler either, but he drew everywhere he went because he was someone that placed more importance on the acting aspect of it, can sell a storyline and looked different from the typical wrestler at the time. He had personality/charisma and people paid money to see him.
