- The biggest failure in Destiny 2 has returned, again. The ancient Knight pledging tribute to Xivu Arath appears inside the pale heart and has been demoted. Also, is this Taniks in the Salvations Edge raid? Or just similar in design? Let’s discuss.

To be fair, since he was Taken in Deep, he now essentially an immortal husk. Taken can rarely be truly killed, they all return eventually. So we'll probably see him after he dies in the Pale Heart, as a grunt somewhere else.

@@yusefwebb9727 The name of the gun would just be Eternal Uselessness and the exotic perk would be "Shoot this gun to deal 15% less damage for the rest of the activity and take 500% more damage for the next 35 minutes".
And being a regular in mid-level events/game modes, he's honestly not even that powerful (ignoring deep dives). Whereas others are in more end-game evrnts.
Thus making him the Team Rocket of Destiny

Remember that the witness came to Riis. They could’ve grabbed one of the fallen from either house Salvation or house Winter, hence Winters Bite the one flavor we don’t know the owner of. Maybe it’s Mithrax’s mother and she wasn’t killed like we thought
Could've been the Kell of house Stone.
Inaaks was shown in cutscenes, she was here in the solar system stealing Nezarec parts long after Earths Collapse.
I personally think that the herald of finality is what was left of Chelchis, Kell of House Stone, Taken by Oryx during the Whirlwind. If it werent for the last stand of House Stone, the Eliskni very well couldve been all but eradicated at Riis.

I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy; but Kelgorath isn't anywhere near the worst so
I really like the whole story surrounding Kelgorath. This Hive Knight just pops up everywhere to get his ass handed to him every time.
For the Herald of Finality to be what became of Chelcis (after being Taken and became the first Eliskni Dread) would a good little lore drop in the Hive Episode

Necromancy was taboo in Oryx’s court, but the Witness seemed to have been interested in it. The scorn and Kelgorath’s presence wouldn’t have been accepted among its ranks otherwise.

I wonder if Xivus plan for Kelgorath was to use him in some war based ritual to boost her armies power, he’s been a lot of fights with various people so maybe she could’ve taken his tribute to empower an invading force but due to his failure in season of the deep she or the witness got fed up and threw him aside to start over from a knight again.
As for the herold of finality while the head is kinda familiar it’s probably not him as in the DSC he’s probably most is not fully machine and was mutated when we killed him. This is probably a Kell from salvation taken and given the style the other disciples/dread have I think if it were taniks the boss would be named taniks or a weapon/armour part named from him
Maybe even take over his throne world he did die in hunt and the one before wich queen before being taken and the same happened to Mara and the shadered throne dungeon exists

I think Kelgorath may end up being very important. The hive have always understood sword logic as survival being rooted in victory but the immortal nature of guardians though their continual resurrections may force them to embrace a new understanding. If they begin to interpret failure as a path to “sharpening” they may come to a new understanding. In a sense accepting survival as the only goal would very much be a natural “sharpening” of the logic into a simpler and purer form. I think the existence of throne worlds and the contradiction of the resurrections of the hive gods already hinted at the incomplete nature of the sword logic. It seems like it’d be a cool way to expand and develop the hive’s lore and role in the story by having factions representing different philosophies of sword logic fight each other to prove their understanding as superior.
i like to think they’re doing something big with Kelgorath in the future. Him reappearing constantly has got to be a leadup to some big twist or i’ll riot

I have feeling that Kelgorath was something in Xivu's terms similar to court jester. She had a good laugh on him constantly dying.
Kelgorath's final death would probably be the guardian stumbling upon his literal bones
or turning him into a gun. Likely a 180 handcannon with shit range
In a way, Kelgorath is kind of like Destiny’s Arbiter; an enemy that pays the price for your success, again and again.
I honestly hope that Bungie give him a similar treatment, maybe having him somehow get risen by a hive ghost and switch sides, or have him make one final attempt to prove himself and become a dungeon boss of sorts.
Imagine we stumble upon Taniks and Kelgorath fighting eachother, and if we kill Kelgorath, its a call back to the first time we see Mithrax

and, according to the lore, Taken CANNOT die. They're always rematerializing in the ascendant plane and then returning to serve anyone they're under the control of. It's the fate worse than death. Kelgorath is now damned to be killed over and over again once he became a Taken.
