Thanks for the update Jake. Whats crazy to me is i read comments and watch videos of people talking about too many cameras on public land. I hunt mostly private but i do also hunt a 750 acre public tract here in illinois in the golden triangle and i very rarely ever run into a camera.
I agree. I hear people make that argument all the time. I have never been to a piece of public land where cameras are "everywhere". Not even remotely close to anything like this "surveillance" narrative the people like to use.
Glad they retracted that. 👍🏻 all these states banning cell cams has me worried over here in lib city MI 😅
Lots of Long faces for the get off my lawn crowd.
You’ll understand why it needs regulated in a few years…no worries. Just wait.
@@ukjw2 oh yes. Just what we need. More government regulation smh
@@richstafford1245 public land…also, has to regulate somewhere. Otherwise you will have thermal drones searching for bedded bucks and following successful hunters around.
The camera hunting of 2010-2022 is over…you are about to see these things everywhere. Talking dozens per square acre. Anytime a big buck pops up, 10+ trucks within 500 yards. Don’t think this can’t get out of hand. Live feeds, 360 degrees, etc etc.
You’ll agree with me, just depends on when.
@@ukjw2no need to regulate it. The line isn’t crossed until we get to drones
@@ukjw2not true. Many states aren’t planning on legalizing drones
Private land owners are pushing a lot of this crap. Same with baiting, etc. One rule should apply to ALL hunters.... you might own the land, but you do NOT own the wildlife. Greed is killing hunting.
Thankfully, some DNR folks are fighting this.... I applaud Iowa DNR.
Really? Let's provide some evidence.
We can't bait in Iowa, so another strike against your knowledge of Iowa.
Comments like yours are typically fueled by jealousy and envy. Just hunt and stop whining.
I've yet to hear private land owner's crying about public land in fact we don't care the people pushing the camera bans are the people hunting public "people" feel like cameras means the spots taking you can't hunt there ect carry on
@Psychedelic-s4i don't know how to tell you this but Iowa is not the only state pushing these rules. And a lot of small landowners in many states are trying to get cameras banned on public, especially cell cameras. Frankly I don't care, my point is one rule for both, rather private or public.
They getting mad people are killing their target bucks as they sit over food plots 2 miles away guy deep in the timber wrangles a 7 1/2 year old giant 😆
I think it’s crazy, people complaining and such and a game camera is just data- if anything it’s a blessing because people that run cameras can run for a specific deer. Would you chase a 2 year old or a 6 year old. It’s good to have a bs idea what is in the area.
When will the Verizon model cell cams be out?
I feel the cameras have made a lot more mature buck because everyone knows there’s a bigger buck in the area. So now hunters are letting smaller bucks walk and end up eating tag soup and mad cause someone else shot their buck they were watching. I personally think cameras have saved a lot of deer from being shot. If you think u can go out and shoot a buck as soon as you get a pic, good luck. I hunt pa and don’t care about cameras at all, they just tell me where someone has been and I need to keep going.
Meh. But now every time one comes into an area there are 15 trucks parked around it.
The fact is less giants are now being killed, not more.
Yep. There's been a lot of 130 and 140 inch deer live on my farm because pictures help me identify them and they help me seek out the booners. Years ago before cameras I would have settled with most pope and young bucks if they came by first. Now days I know the old mature bucks and am able to pass good young deer.
@@Raised-Right but now none of them slip away…giants deep in the swamps that nobody knows about are long gone. And as camera use and tech increases…every public land buck will have trucks of hunters following them around. Parking lots going from empty to having 15 cars because 1 booner walked through and triggered cameras
The future of hunting.
Bring thermal drones out too since it helps you be selective for your trophy hunting.
Great news. 👍🏻
Yea buddy. 25 cameras per square acre on the way. Wilderness gonna be under surveillance 24/7. Camera that do 360. Cameras that do live feed.
What a win
I'm not from Iowa but I agree glad to see at least for the moment common sense prevailed.
@@PBAdventures146 dnr may as well put live feed cameras in the woods for everyone to log into…because that’s what it’s going to be like with the explosion in cameras and tech.
Cameras on public ground is a tool that could be used to benefit everyone. Herd health, density . Predator surveillance and on and on. This would give the public a chance to survey share information with Department of Fish and Wildlife. Put your hunting license number on camera. Department officials would have a way to identify and contact you if necessary. Remember if your on public ground it is “public “ information is not private.
But it's a private camera and your private camera only has that info. So it's hypocritical.
All I can say is ill make sure if I see a camera to stay away from the stupid thing
How do they even enforce that in Illinois leaving stands on
Public after season is illegal yet they rot in trees
One buck state is a bad idea I have land don’t want to leave to go hunting 1 with 1 with bow should stay
Theres is an interview with a game warden. He enforceing the rule of leaving things overnight.on public ground.cameras included.
End all party hunting in iowa. Go to 1 buck only all season. Done
About time this was un done. These bans are going too far, they aren’t drones
Bummer
They will regret this in 3 years. When there are multiple cameras on every single trail or scrape. They don’t see to quite understand just how many cameras are getting put out and how cheap they are.
Great. So more cameras on every single scrape. What a world.
@@dualthreatoutdoors give it time. There are more on scrapes there there was last year. And multiples more on scrapes compared to say 2020. By 2030 scrapes will be surrounded by cheap cell cams.
@@ukjw2 again still many scrapes deep that a lot of guys aren’t getting to. Don’t ask me how I know…
Cell cams should be banned everywhere. It's not hunting
And driving your vehicle to you hunt spot isnt hunting either. Do it the way the natives did it. On foot!! Shut up dude its just a tool just like your bow is a tool and your rifle is a tool. Lets ban weapons all together for hunting. A real hunter will harvest their animal with just theor hands
I don’t run them but i disagree coulda been in the game so many times if i had one
None of these states should be banning cameras. They should all limit out of state tags shorten gun seasons make a crossbow season etc could go on and on. Cameras are not the problem. Good job Iowa.
