Paul didn't do that, and there were controversies in his day. I think it's important to stay in touch with your brothers and sisters, we are a family after all. There will be a falling away from the truth, so we can read in the bible. And God will make sure His church will stay on the right path, in one way or another. It's not only important what the church members can do for you, but also what you can do for them, even more so, your role is to be a servant. If by watching online lectures and sermons you learn things, like I have, you can share that with your family. In my congregation not many members are watching foreign pastors' sermons, which I find more educational than the bible studies at my church, I'm sorry to say. We all have our part to play as members of the body of Christ, you cannot just sit and watch, while others do the work, you too have a responsibility. You do not go to church merely to learn things, you also go to worship, bond with your family, to support eachother and to get blessings. Maybe there's someone who needs your support. And God can work through them to help and teach you. However, the most important aspect is that you go there for God. You cannot celebrate the Lord's supper and do foot washings by yourself. I understand where you're coming from, I didn't attend church for 35 years, not knowing which one had the truth, but I'm glad I joined the SDA, despite individuals with opinions I don't share. I hope you will change your mind about not attending. You are free to do as you like, ofcourse, but do you think this is what God wants?
