So I was vegetarian age 3-11 (no one else in my family was) and then switched to pescatarian 11-21 (current day). Honestly it’s not so much the taste of meat that is a no for me it’s the *texture!* I tried a few times over the years but I never could get over that part. I think everyone should eat what they want but personally I just don’t miss meat much in my diet.
Definitely no problem with eating what you like, but being insensitive enough for not caring about the torture that these animals have to go through just so we can overeat is sad.

Not only is it more efficient and less time-consuming, bacon gets nice and marinated in its grease w no risk of scorching, AND you don't get your whole house permeated with bacon grease and smoke. Noticed major health and especially energy benefits from a trout/mackrell/sardines (low in mercury and microplastics) about once a week or less without having to go far out my way to supplement omega acids, b12, heme-iron etc. Anyways best of luck in your journey.

You should make maple bacon! Put maple syrup and black pepper on the bacon before you bake it (not between two pans obviously). The maple syrup turns into a thick texture and candies the bacon. Out of this world. I don’t even like regular bacon tbh. But I LOVE maple bacon.
Do applewood bacon from Costco. That's the stuff of legends and dreams 🤤 I think chewy bacon is better but I recommend trying it out in multiple styles. Also when shopping for bacon look for the one with the least fat!

Is bacon delicious? Yes. Is bacon overrated? Yes. Does the smell absorb into every single material it touches? Yes. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily. That sandwich made me crave a BLT for the first time in prolly 3 years.

you needed to salt and pepper the tomatoes, and put mayo on the bread (after it's toasted) so it warms up the mayo and makes it kinda thin and coats the lettuce and tomato and the bacon is just the centerpiece but now the rest of it tastes amazing too
Was vegetarian for 8 years and gave it up almost two years ago, I ate bacon for the first time a few months ago and god I forgot what I was missing. I still eat tempeh bacon bc the real thing is a taste bud shock with so much flavor but it’s still super good! The real thing is best dipped in maple syrup, it was one of my favs as a kid and its so nostalgic eating it again

You should make maple bacon! Put maple syrup and black pepper on the bacon before you bake it (not between two pans obviously). The maple syrup turns into a thick texture and candies the bacon. Out of this world. I don’t even like regular bacon tbh. But I LOVE maple bacon.

Do applewood bacon from Costco. That's the stuff of legends and dreams 🤤 I think chewy bacon is better but I recommend trying it out in multiple styles. Also when shopping for bacon look for the one with the least fat!

I was also veggie for like 6 years! Have been eating meat since Spring 2020, tbh it's more convenient and also tasty. I live in Germany so the options weren't too great but also not bad. I still wanna live mostly veggie/vegan when I'm older, like 30 or something and living in the UK or US. (Gonna move to London next year!! So excited y'all.)

Same (7 year vegetarian) except I was bad vegetarian (most junk/carbs/meat replacements with little vegetables) and that I quit two years ago. Still don't really like meat that much though, never did according to parents. I have my things that I can cook and things I refuse to eat. Gonna try my hand at eating/cooking fish soon.
