I've been playing mistlands for about 2 hours, and at the 3:26 the music scratched the part of my brain, remembering similarities . "where have i heard this 8second melody before, reminds me of a fantasy magic movie"... then it came to me. Brothers grim. just the small overlap "lived happily ever after". its a recurring motif throughout the brothers grim soundtrack.
The very first enemy I saw when I entered the Mistlands was the Gjall, I was so afraid that I was literally speechless (I was in Discord with my friends). Suddenly it started going in our direction and a storm started (With the purple lightning charasteristic of the Mistlands) and some Seekers started attacking us. We killed some but we were wiped out at the end
That's awesome. I remember our first time in the mistlands as well. I had told my friend I'd be the "tank" so I made a black metal tower shield, all the upgraded armor pieces. We entered the mistlands from the mountains and immediately came across and abandoned dvergr mining site, and stumbled across a 2 star seeker. Bright red terrifying bug, we were all freaking out. But I had my tower shield so, feeling confident and reassuring my friends, I went in to tank the thing while my friends shot it. It oneshot me through the shield, and my corpse flew backwards into the wall. Needless to say myself and my friends were absolutely mortified by the mistlands after that.
lol that was my experience too. Landed on a small island. Met a gjall. Ticks and seekers started pouring into the island with fireballs nailing me and i died within the minute after getting knocked into the water. Gjall was like “welcome to the mist lands, b****"

a melancholic ambience. gives the feel that the player is reaching the last half of the game and getting more difficult as well.

love the gjall noise in the beginning :D bet you turned down mob sound volume after that
Honestly if that gjall noise wasn't there are the start of the melody it'd somehow feel less authentic XD

Coolest biome but the worst biome. The mist really stops you from taking in the sights.
