I went back to eat lala noodles at Lai Foong today (24/12/22). Sad to report back that quality has dropped! The lala all so small and closed.. hardly able to eat any lala meat. However, the soup is still delicious… not sure if this is seasonal with lala being small this time of the year. Or vendor trying to save cost by buying lower grade lala…?
I went to eat on Saturday 2/4/22. The beef noodles is the best. I had a bowl of beef noodle and my second bowl was the wine La-la noddles. I also did a takeaway too. Yummy, I will go back next week for the second round. Lai Foong is well known for it's beef noodles.
I have fond memories of Shing Kee beef noodles and Petaling Street stalls, esp the Ngap Keok Pao. It is a pity Selangor Pewter host speak in Mandarin, not English. I don’t understand what he is saying. The unique seafood restaurant is interesting. I missed egg floss butter milk prawns so I learnt how to cook it myself.
Beef noodles and ngap keok pao are legendary in Petaling street.. I love them a lot… those are still done by the same family instead of foreign workers…. which is rare these days. I guess the younger generation these days all speak in Mandarin.. I can understand a bit and speak a bit.. too complicated ones, I will be lost. Good that you able to make the food you miss so much from home. 👍🤤

Shin Kee's beef is good too but I can only place them at 2nd place because they use monoglutamate. Makes me thirsty after eating it.
Glad that you enjoyed it. I love all the beef noodles in KL. There are actually 4 places around that vicinity.. haha.. all of them are good to me.
