- JR Motorsports announced on Monday that the famed stylized No. 8 would return to the track in 2025 with Sammy Smith in the Xfinity Series. The news was years in the making and finally able to happen after Teresa Earnhardt relinquished her rights to the trademark in June. On SiriusXM NASCAR Radio this week, Larry McReynolds talked about the subject and didn't hesitate in sharing why she held on to the number for so many years.
Also in this video:
Bubba Wallace surprised his Toyota teammates when he explained some of his late-night behavior in recent years.
Haas Factory Team President Joe Custer shared a couple of key alliances the team will use to its advantage in 2025.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. posted on X five years ago about repairing North Wilkesboro for a scan on iRacing. Now, look at where the track is today.
Chase Briscoe exacted revenge on Christopher Bell this week leaking news on his new JGR teammate's plans to race the Chili Bowl. It was repayment for Bell's slip-up in June when he inadvertently announced Briscoe was coming to JGR.
Send your questions you want me to ask a driver at the Daytona 500.

No. That is not Davey Allison's car on the cake, that is Ernie Irvan in the #28. I had that diecast for years! The number font was different in the Ernie Irvan era when he drove the car.
You're totally right! Thanks for correcting me. I appreciate it.
I do think that Cole has a good chance of getting some decent finishes this coming year. The team, although having been rearranged and modified, has good roots. And deep. I think he's going to be ok. Great content as usual, Kyle. Can't wait for Daytona. I can't afford to be there but I've got you to keep me informed so that makes me happy!
Looking forward to it. And thanks as always, Stephen for your great thoughts and kind words.
I believe that the C Bell slip up was an honest mistake. On the other hand the C. Briscoe thing is purely P.R. And that is fine 😊
K Bush drives the no# 8 in cup and Josh Berry drove the 8 for JR Motorsports So what changed?
The font for the JRM car.
@2:25 honestly I look at it differently. When some of my buddies had their first child I bother gaming systems (what ever was most current) and it helped when they were up with the baby. It started with an old friend. The idea was to keep him in the house. In his case, video games helped him grow up. From there it was just a tradition for the expecting couples in our circle. 🤙🏽🍻
I would love to hear various drivers' opinions on the various misconceptions about NASCAR outside the fanbase, or in contrast, something interesting about the sport that fans don't really know. Or if you could only say one thing to an outsider to convince them to check out NASCAR for the first time, what would it be? In other words, what should the sport be doing right now to grow and reel in new fans?
I do have a specific question for a driver or crew chief: Thinking back to Alex Bowman’s car being underweight…Denny said on his podcast that all weight matters. So my question is this-are drivers asked to lose weight or maintain a strict weight range? Do drivers who weigh less have an advantage?
Good questions!
Larry Mac has been doing the talk show/podcast circuits hot n heavy. Maybe he's vying for his own podcast soon.
6:42 for Larry mac
Came to look for this time stamp. Thank you!
Thanks, felt like it just drug on an on.
As long as Briscoe and Bell don't start making announcements for each other's wives we'll be okay.
I always thought there was bad blood between Dale Jr. and Teresa. They've done a good job of not making it public, but the grumbles from those in the NASCAR community kind of confirm she's not "loved" at the track.
A good question(s) for Chase Elliott: Do you have a plan for qualifying this year? Chase does not qualify well, which leaves him making up time after the race starts. A follow on question could be: Do you have a plan for improving restarts? He usually backs up a few spots before he starts moving forward. If Chase did well in these two areas, he'd be winning more races. He may smile that you have that much understanding about his issues. Qualifying and restarts are Chase's achilles heel. He had another issue, not being aggressive enough fighting for wins, and he pushed the envelope on that the last half of the 2024 season.
Great questions!
@@BeatingandBanging If I'm reading the drivers right, most do not like this new car. Gotta say, I liked it better when teams built their own cars. That's what always drove innovation in car design. The geniuses that work for the owners, not NASCAR.
Thank you Kyle!
Thx for the info.. got a Question for you, if you go to JRM website and look up the drivers/Teams you will see that three of them have no car numbers as of yet? I believe it’s Honeycutt, Lapradd and Kvapil. Just curious 🧐
Interesting observation. Thanks for pointing it out.
Kyle, thank you for keeping us updated with the latest news. I appreciate that you are novel in your approach to content, “flipping rocks” and looking for stories, good stories of interest missed by most. Way up here in Alberta, Canada, I think I would ask my favourite driver what goes through his mind when he thinks of us fans who are so far away, yet driver with them right there in their car each week, taking a close interest in the ability to drive and succeed at the highest level.
Alberta Jim
Great hearing from you, Jim! And thank you for the kind words. So appreciated. Good question, too!
Me and my buddy tried to buy NW in 2017 and he said the county was going to buy it. Could never trust old man Smith when it came to money. I think he held on to it knowing it would be worth more sooner than later.
Interesting story. Thanks for sharing.
Would be very surprised to see Custer pick up a win…even more surprised if he were to make the chase.
If he wins a race, he would make the playoffs
Looking forward to watching JGR next year - if they can keep Ty Gibbs under control.
how about a link for the C.R. doc.
It’s available on multiple platforms but I watched it on Max.
Didn't know Christopher Reeve was a NASCAR fan..
I didn’t either.
Uhm...95 would have been Irvan..plus,the fonts are different from Davey's car...
Yep. Got it wrong.
95 was actually Dale Jarrett, Irvan came back late in the year at North Wilkesboro & drove #88. He and Jarrett switched start of 1996 with Irvan going back into the 28 & Jarrett going into the 88 with Quality Care on his car...
@@vinewood8295 Yeah..I forgot about Jarret after Irvans accident....I stand coorected...I blame getting older..lol
That’s what I blame too! 😂
The contempt the kids have for Theresa is understandable.
Thanks again great reporting 💯 I'm glad to see the 8th coming back Larry Mack was on Spot. I would like to ask the drivers who they truly think is the first lady of racing Louise Smith is she from Greenville South Carolina I don't knew where personally what is a very classy lady I'm ready for the first time at Daytona her nephew Maxie Bush was racing in the dash series love your show man you got it going on.
Thank you for the very kind words. Really appreciate it. First lady of racing? That's an interesting one. Thanks!
I would like to see you give a bit of attention to Rick Ware Racing. I pay more attention to the NHRA than NASCAR and I really am impressed with his efforts there. No one really knows Rick. There seems to be more substance to Rick than I originally assumed. Help us get to know all these new faces. I don't recognize hardly any of the drivers or owners. I really like your perspective and your channel.
Thank you for the kind words. Really appreciate it. And I'll look into talking with Rick. Think that would be a good interview. Great idea!
I forsee a merger with Haas and another 1 or 2 car team like Jtg or whatever they're called, Rik Ware.
Jtg going to ford would be smart idea Ricky stenhouse jr used to drive fords so it could happen!
Didn't think of that one. Interesting.
@@BeatingandBanging RWR would be my guess.
rfk connection, Ford already, and they bring 2 charters, with Brad leasing 1.
@@miketwotwenty JTG would be a really smart idea, Ford needs teams.
Question….why does SVG say that his biggest and favorite race is in New Zealand, and what race is it ? Thanks
Is is Bathurst? That's in Australia.
Thank you very much for the video sir
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel!
I'm looking forward to 2025. Keep up the great work, and I'm still waiting for the giveaway of the lava lamp!!
Thanks James! Stay tuned.
Why not just ask chase purdy? Instead of speculating
I’d love to have that kind of access to drivers but I don’t. So research is the next best option.
Hi,I'm Kyle Dalton, and I talk like a robot and now I'll post news from other places. 🤦😖
I’m AI. It’s not real.
Bring back The ROCK to Cup next only thing left that and bring back Chicagoland
Great show like always. I think Cole will finish around 20th in points
Thank you and that's a fair prediction.
Certainly pleased to see the 8 back where it belongs.
The car #8 is simply a car number. Nothing famous about it.
No the 8 number isn't famous. But if your talking about the number 8 in nascar it is famous because the Earnhardt s ran that number on their cars.
Calendar please
These videos are good but I shure can't wait till February and the Daytona 500
Me too!
Teresa E was a great person. The silly fans, wanted Teresa E to just walk away, and give Dale Jr, and his ruthless sister, the company. She did not, Teresa and Dale Sr built DEI. Not Dale Sr and Dale Jr.. I'm so glad , that in the least, Dale Jr never got a Cup.. With the legends on his Team. Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon. Dale Jr can never hold a flame to them. He was always in there shadows , on that team..
Mostly it's Jr's fans making excuses for his poor proformance. All he's ever really had was a fan base that grew after Dale passed. Him and his sister never offered to buy DEI. They never tried to include Kerry and/or Taylor. They are just typical spoiled brats that want everything handed to them. Big talking punks that still haven't started up their own cup team.
Couldn't have said it better!
Click bate. Not all about earnhardt
Why dont you come up with your own ideas
Huh?

Eight coming back is great, almost as good as when the 3 came back.Born in 1960 all nighter means i just cant sleep...
How is the "8" coming back. Kyle Busch has been running it for a few years.
Maybe lavar Scott will take over Chase purdy’s ride!
Interesting...
@ yes idk if he’s ready for a truck ride but he has been pretty good in arca this past season!
I'm thinking Corey Day is going to end up with that ride.
If the 2 REV Racing team continues in Trucks, I believe Andres Perez is going to get that ride.
@@IcyKcominyourway Corey day needs to do full time arca first he’s not truck ready yet!
