    My uncle Adolf Hitler he left a VW like that on his trip to Pattaya in may 1945.

      It's the same VW model my uncle Erwin Rommel drove during their 1941 company sponsored vacation in North Africa. He said the climate was very hot but the fireworks were awesome.

      @@workshoplife3740 I saved up as a teen to buy a used one, but my dad talked me out of it, said I'd freeze in it in the winter so I bought a superbeetle instead. Damn him, I shoulda bought the Thing anyways, lol.

      @@workshoplife3740 Oh, and as a side note the Thing was based off of Germany's WWII military Kubelwagon, They are strikingly similar, the Thing was kinda that just more mordern and for civilian markets. But West Germany into the 70's still used versions of it. (Looks about the same) And when I say more modern, well yes, but there was a limit to what you could do with it esp. back then. Still cool in my book. So yeah, if ya get a chance google the Kubelwagon for pics, You'll see what I mean. Haz a good one.
