    its amazing that something like the very British humour of spamalot can translate to Korean but it still sounds great.

    @omnigeek13, most foreign versions of the show change that song specifically. The French version refers to needing "a hit song" while the Dutch version asks for "a TV star." I know that, in Korea, LOTS of Broadway shows tour and are put on TV, so the audience is fairly familiar with American musicals. I wish I knew the language, thought, to provide more info....

    I came here just for “Diva’s Lament”. Even though this is Korean, it’s good!

    I don't know about the whole musical, but I do know that Diva's Lament follows basic text. She's saying like she "is the main but what's going on. They're gonna replace me"
    It's basically the same.

    In this version of You Won't Succeed on Broadway sings about they need some "celebrities".

      Thank you. I don’t speak Korean but I suspected it was something along those lines as there were no visual references to Judaism.

    So, in this language, is he basically going through other shows? Does it still have anything to do with jews?
    Does Diva's Lament still follow the same basic textual meaning? just curious.

    • @LoreleiMission
      @LoreleiMission ปีที่แล้ว

      "Celebrities" instead of jews. Different languages of the show have different subjects for this song

    its a shame they don't know about Jews.... -_-;

    • @edenhoondia9932
      @edenhoondia9932 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Rachel Richter I’m sure they know about Jews, but they probably don’t have that many Jews in their country so the majority of the audience won’t understand the jokes
