We didn't have a snow blower when the storm hit because it got stolen from our garage the previous summer. And our one snow shovel broke early on when my brother cleared the wet, heavy snow for the Trick or Treaters. Dad managed to find one hardware store open, bought four snow shovels, and we all worked to clear the sidewalks the following day because everyone's jobs and schools closed.THe blizzard was like the winter version of the Superstorm rain event of July 1987.

I was 10..... it was magical! As an Anokan (Halloween capital of the world) trick or treating that Halloween is still in my mind, at 42! ❤

It was a wild and interesting Halloween. I was a kid and everyone was in their snowsuits while trick or treating.

Damn, its going to be 33 years ago this year. I lived in Welcome, MN during 1991. Sitting in the house with the family and had a knock at the door. Thought it was a person who got stuck. Nope, it was my best friend who was out trick or treating while wearing an actual Pirate outfit. He had a full 30+ gallon garbage bag full of candy. I was 14 at the time and really wish I had pictures of that day. I had a few rolls of film but it was never developed and who knows where it went.

I lived in Owatonna, we got mostly rain, and got very little snow. I worked in Northfield, about 30 miles north. I saw a car with a foot on snow on its roof on I 35 and was wondering what the heck is going on. Northfield had a lot of snow.

My father bought an 8hp snowblower on Labor Day that year. The salesman said such a snowblower is overkill. My father said this is the Twin Cities; anything is possible.
