    Wow! I never would have guessed that you started with a black base! Great job!

    Absolutely beautiful! Do you wet sand between silver flake base and candy? thank you

    • @DNAPaints
      @DNAPaints  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Brian you can achieve this 2 ways ,
      1, Flake then clear coat , then wet sand then candy and clear
      2, Flake then candy then clear without wet sanding .
      in the video i done everything the same day within a 4 hour window. with no wet sanding
      The times you would wet sand the clear is if you have used a flake bigger than 100 micron "not available in aerosol" . or if the masking designs/colors are very intricate and require multiple days to finish.
      Cheers Mark

    Hi Mark great job , I have a 76 GL1000 they have a false tank that's in three pieces , two side covers and two radiator sheilds , I have decided to pant it in , smashed metal metallic, with apple red candy , and clears of course , I would like to do inside and out as the the tank shelters fold down etc , my question to you is how many rattle cans of paint will I need ? Or would this be un economical and be cheaper to do with real spray gun .

    • @DNAPaints
      @DNAPaints  ปีที่แล้ว

      not at all , the Aerosols are designed to be used on smaller items like motor bikes etc. if its just the tank your painting , 2 cans of smashed metal, 2 clear, 3 candy. this will be a little more than youll use but defiantly worth having extra when painting candy just in case

    How long do you have taping between coats before its necessary to scuff with sand paper or scothbrite. Most paint requires 7min-15 min in between coats, i dont think i could tape off in that amount of time plus it would be wet.

    • @DNAPaints
      @DNAPaints  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most paints including ours have a maximum of 3 hours from your last coat till you need to clear coat the base . Outside of that and you risk delamination of the clear . You can scuff the base over 3 hours later and reapply more base then clear .

      no , everything was painted the same day within 3 hours all with aerosol cans . there is no fancy edit work in any of the videos on the channel . everything is painted the same day and nothing is ever buffed or polished . everything is either off the gun or from a aerosol can

    How long did you leave between the black base and the flake, and the flake and the clearcoat? about 15 minutes?

    • @DNAPaints
      @DNAPaints  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Shaun, would have been roughly 10 mins between each stage . this was painted in a heated booth @ 25 degrees . if your painting in colder conditions then longer flash times are required .

      sorry mate not sure what your trying to do here. if your wanting to add Vinyl decals to a painted surface . paint your parts and clear it . sand it down then apply decals then clear parts again . keep it simple
