Lanolin is fantastic stuff, and and has been used through the ages - for both humans and farm animals. With this application, we can skip the first part of the title - as the sheep do not need to be killed for their wool.
@SouthPads My point was in reply to the statement that the sheep aren't killed for their wool, although they are bred and farmed for their wool and destroyed when no longer commercially viable. They do not have 'happy lives'.
Organic naturally collected and highly refined is much better. The Asian import lanolin has DDT residues, alcohol, chemical strippers, acids and impurities. It’s very low quality and allergenic. Organic Refined and dewaxed lanolin is soft, amber and very translucent. It has very little odor and absorbs quickly into the skin by gentle rubbing. If it is hard, opaque, smelly or greasy return it and complain. Locally refined organic lanolin is almost never responsible for dermatitis or allergic response.
thanks for your comment. I just bought some for the first time. It is by 'Now Solutions' and not organic. It doesn't smell but is very sticky, I have no idea of the origin. I will try to buy organic next time.
What is not mentioned is the sheep. I can’t imagine how many sheep have to be sheered to produce such a huge amount of lanolin. Where are all these sheep? What happens to them?
I’m vegan and I accidentally bought a face wash with lanolin in it and my mom reassured me it was okay to use!! I love this product but every-time I use it I feel bad:(
@El Hoffman Absolutely not ok to use, it's far better to never shear the sheep and let them die a horribly slow death from hyperthermia and severe joint pain due to heavy wool overgrowth. That is much more humane than cutting their hair.
Kamiondžija Kl - I know right lmao wtf ppl tripping... That said, this video is verrry very poorly titled, because in NO way do sheep need to be “killed” for their wool (lanolin comes from the *wool* ...) Sooo many more problems to *better* worry about (especially in the realm of “treatment of animals”....!!)
No there is no need to kill a sheep but sometimes when the farmers are cutting there fur off they accidentally cut the skin and that can possibly kill them. If you keep the sheep than you can shave there fur and make money every year from selling there wool to latolin. If you kill the sheep your just wasting money you could’ve gotten for ever year you sheer your sheep.

Did I miss something - why is this called “kill it, cut it, use it”?

Indeed sheep don't need to be killed for their wool, but they're still farmed for wool and killed when they're no use to the farmer anymore.
Or eat them. In Mexico they are part of a delicious cuisine.
@@kevingarcia1055 Or you can keep the sheep and let it grow more fur and get more lanolin
Why would you add petroleum jelly?? The whole point is that lanolin is natural.
Melancholy hill 😊😊😊
What do they do with the remaining wool?

how amazing
Bit of gorillaz in the background there
HAHAHA I work there. Horrible smelly place. the wool gets more respect than the workers
Hi May I know they purposely kill the sheep to get the wool ?
@@maggiechan3415 They don't kill the sheep to get the wool! Sheep are sheared yearly.
@@janicejohnstone4962 thanks dear. . 😘
@mickyhamps where abouts is the factory?
@@janicejohnstone4962 Yes but don’t shear before winter because then your risking that the sheep will die of hypothermia with no winter coat
The title... for a moment I thought it’s a peta campaign or something

@@notar2123 It's better to stop breeding domestic sheep into existence.
is it really necessary to kill the sheep
