Why does Odoo not inherit the variants of a part product in a bom? We have officedesks with e.g. tabletop variants of 10 colors and 6 widths. Now I need to define them at the tabletop product, as well as the Officedesk product that contains a tabletop... Or am I missing something?
You mentioned we should only have 1 BOM for all variants. Can you explain the purpose of the field "Product Variant" in the BOM menu just under the "Product" field? You left this field as blank, but what is it supposed to be used for?
@@HammoD2k You can do it two different ways. You can set up a new BOM for every possible variant scenario. This is okay if you only have a few options but if you have tons of options it won't be practical to do it that way.

This was the exact question I had!!! Did you ended up finding otherwise?

I came searching for the same question :)
