      Incorrect information, sorry.
      Your axle nut should be TIGHT. If your wheel doesn't spin with a snug axle nut, one of three things..
      1. Bad bearings
      2. Imperfect wheel core/bearing seat
      3. A combination of 1 and 2
      To fix problem, buy good credible cast truck brands.
      Ex: Paris or caliber trucks
      The other simple fix, get zealous bearings. Save your money buy zealous. Best bearings ever, I ride them and I do serious DH, I have taken them to 60mph with confidence.

  • @Adam-ru3yq

    Big disagree. Bearings need preload to do their job. The wheels should turn almost freely by hand with no click.

    • @OgdenSikel
      @OgdenSikel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      U need to put seismic bearings in those seismic tantrums so you can tighten them all the way down without hurting your roll speed. Professional longboarders always tighten their wheels all the way down to get a predictable carve and slide. If you don't tighten your wheels all the way down you will have way less grip and will cause your board to slide out from your feet when taking a big hard turns. I highly recommend built in berrings so you can tighten your wheels all the way with no problems and get the most predictable slide and grip.

    it's so painful to see this being so popular. a lot of beginners will watch this and reduce the performance of their board and degrade their bearings… the information in this video is completely wrong, if you have bearing spacers (which you should!), make sure the axle nuts are nice and tight, without any play. don't worry if this reduces freespin, that's no indication at all of how your bearings will perform under load. @OgdenSikel i hope you'll consider taking this misinformation down.

    Uhm... that's how you wear the inside of the bearings bushing out, they need to be tight to the truck otherwise you risk the wheels trying to skip on you when your carving. Also bearings need preload, the inner bushing that sits on the trucks thread will just roll with the balls in the bearing if they aren't tightened down not allowing you to actually use the ceramics or polished steel beads inside.

    Only do that if you're for some reason not using spacers. With spacers, tighten the axle nut until you feel noticable resistance. Then proceed not to care about how the wheel spins when you're hand spinning it, because that really doesn't tell you how well it's going to perform under load.

  • @danoyes1
    @danoyes1 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    If wheel is not free spinning with nut tight 2 possibilities, bad bearing or wheel and bearings have been installed with out spacer.
    The spacer is part of a metal sleeve that runs along the axel, from the truckhanger, inner bearing race, spacer, outer bearing race and then nut... speed rings can also be part of the sandwich.
    If a spacer is not used then the nut applies side forces to the outer and inner bearings with only the plastic rubber wheel/bearing seat separating them.
