Best video to explain indie music, straight to the point. The rest of the videos out there, went a big round, having few people playing instruments, playing some unknown background music of their own. Showing people wearing fancy clothing on their mtv. Kinda counter intuitive.
self financed and pressed records without the backing of a major or a subsidiary label. Then it all changed in the later part of the 80s when it meant a distinct sound. Now it;s almost anything can be classified as Indie. Without having the history behind it
Thank you for that. I'm sure I could have "Gaggle'd" that, but that clears it up perfectly. That makes me want to ONLY purchase "Indies Music". I can appreciate an artist or a band that does it their way, their music, put's in the work without drowning the air with pre-mixed, post-mix, all pre-fab cookie-cutter "music". I'm the type of person that will also stop listening to an artist if they are horrible people and have no morals now matter what they sound like.
Got it what about feeder because feeder was on a label called echo and is echo is a official record label like warner brother and island def jam or is echo label is more of a ℹ dependent label give me of a background of what is the echo label is all from a uk 🇬🇧 standard point to a USA 🇺🇸 standard point?
Independent is a bit of a loose term. Some people refer to certain labels as independent, meaning not affiliated with a major label. So if the band is on an independent label, you could still consider it "indie" music.
@@Taylorsound got it thank you 🙏 taylor I also have a question 🙋♂️ in mind stereo world and descend are independent songs and they have gone through some independent duration like 3:32 and 5:25 and that’s the mini album version but the album version is 3:24,3:27,5:23,and 3:31 but I have a question 🙋♂️ do you have to ignore the duration as long as they are the same recording of the same song or that does the duration have to change when you’re on stereo world or descend or dosen’t matter what version of stereo world or descend to listen to like mini album or album 💿 version?
Indie was once out of the box self-artists away from mainstream, but now has become a sort of stylistic genre of its own. However, many of us who don't have a label would be considered "Indie" in its purist definition.
Probably my least favorite music label is Indie. It's so vague and misused at the same time. Like... Neurosis. They fall perfectly on this "Indie Music" definition, but no one calls them Indie. They call them Post-Metal, Hardcore Punk, Sludge Metal, even Progressive Metal... But not Indie, because they don't sound like a "Indie Rock band".
I used to think it's indian music...
Bruh same
Same🤣🤣
I thought hindi music😂😂
Same here 🤣🤣

So it's not a genre of music?
It's both . The genre is similar to a mix rnb/jazz/acoustic. Erykah Baduh and Halsey fall into that sound of music. It's a strange mix lol
@@k-dub1864 ahh thanks
Interesting take, but I would emphasize the independent in terms of the record label.
@@k-dub1864 in simple words it’s the type of music which huts hard
Thanks for the explanation man!
Glad to help.

Meaning of indie music is weired and different from indie musics
