She sang the opening number (Piece of My Heart) at the New York Pops 41st birthday and tribute to legendary music executive Clive Davis, who personally asked her to come. (Fun Fact: Though they released five new songs together last year, Courtney Hadwin and Kevin Bowe had never met face to face until New York this April. They had only facetimed while they worked together remotely.) Courtney met a Whos Who of heavy hitters from the music industry who performed in the concert with her, and the New York Pops released clips of her performance to their social media, where they called it "electrifying" and millions of people have seen it. And last, "The Lurgy" is a colloquialism from Courtney's native northeastern England, not an actual diagnosis of a serious illness. It usually means they're having flu-like symptoms and Courtney was fine in a week or two, though she did cut her "guitar picking finger" on a dogfood can after that and had to postpone a guitar cover she was going to post on her social media.
