- Matt James has done one of the CRAZIEST things Summernats has ever seen. He entered into the Burnout Masters class with not one - but TWO 1000 + hp skid cars. Each with a big block and MASSIVE blowers! It was already cool enough that James used both cars but he took it a step further and WON 1’st place with one car, and RUNNER UP with the other car! WHAT A BEAST!! This is a Summernats we will never forget - thanks for putting on a show Matt!

We love competition down here, we rip on the poms about the ashes, the kiwis for the rugby, but we just bloody love a good contest and will always lose with a smile on our face if its deserved. Battlers always, winners sometimes.

Grady Mayfield where im at. They do it with you chained down to the ground by a 10 feet chain. And I've one it with a fwd pontiac grand prix with 1060hp v6. It was insane because your chained down and its fun to see fwd and awd do it

Aussie here, The next thing I want to see in burnout comps is people start to channel smoke away from their cars in creative different ways, so maybe make some cool custom ducts with thermos built into them coming up and out of the wheel wells (if possible), or using split exhaust exit locations to try and blast smoke out the side as well as the back or up. The possibilities are endless.
Certified Aussie here, after being here for nearly 12 years and going to burnout comps a couple of times, i would absolutely support that. i love pure rage towards tires as much as the next person, but i have sat here many times and genuinely contemplated what could make the comps better. what people go for and how the skids are judged still confuses me. like i could show up to summer nats with a tiny little car, a mini for instance, have only a few hundred brake in it but make more smoke than the rest of them combined, would i win for that? theres so many variables to be judged on and i think style points is a big factor of that. coloured smoke, channeled, smoke like you said, proper driving instead of completely hammering it and spinning out...i dunno, theres a few things id like to see and no one has thought of...
use some sort of powerful fans and ducting to blow it up above the car.
like that ute for example, could simply have a cover on the tray with say 4 or 6 16" thermo fans built in sucking air up through cut out wheel wells and would rocket smoke skywards, would be fairly easy to do as well, and just provide some shielding for when the tire pops so nothing gets damaged
I was thinking about this while we were at summernats, I twas thinking it'd be pretty cool to find a way to trap some smoke in the trunk and have it shooting out of a series of holes like spikes kind of? Hopefully it becomes a thing, you see several cars with either accidental or intentional smoke POURING out from the exhaust pushing it through the air even faster, I love that, expecially when it creates smoke circles everywhere hahaha
Just need to have a car blowing proper smoke rings, and you're set.
This guy has a fleet of tough cars over here in Perth, Western Australia. A real car guy and collector. Am from Perth too and have seen him compete many times and he always brings the toughest skids.
+FearOfTheSky Yeah mate the car is well built, but his control is even more impressive. I assume he walks his donuts using a proportioning valve or a hyraulic handbrade to hold front, but even then, he's consistently missing the walls through the smoke screen.

A lot of the higher level cars in the scene dont run back brakes at all or have some variety of line lock to make sure they are on front only. Then again 1000+hp on methanol you dont really need to get on the brakes all that much to get the party started.
dosent matter if he's a good or if he's not his dad is fully rich and pays for all his cars.. if your dad was rich you could have two 200k burnout cars and win burnout master, with out money you can't do anything, wish my dad was rich and bought me everything, anyway I'm not a fat red head so you can't have everything I life.

they just closed all their Australian factories, if you act fast and start a petition in the USA they may save the tooling and build them in America because its going to the junkyard for recycling as we speak.
They don't make any Aussie utes any longer the factories have closed unfortunately
I know of 1 in the states. Its just the body on a GTO platform. Yes I know not technically a UTE but we can't get the car over here with anything on the car that holds fluid. Motor, tranny, any tanks, lines shit like that. But regardless it was bad ass to see the car over here.
