Better than I've ever heard it before. And that bass is awesome; it has no residual hang over tones, notes stop and start where they need to. Nice, clean, and hard driving sound; no notes bleed into others. Each note has it's own distinct voice.
Status Graphite makes some the nicest basses around. If you get the chance to purchase a used one, don't hesitate. They are approaching retirement and won't be taking any more new orders. I just purchased a 6 string Eclipse Artist after years of missing one I sold long ago. Ryan
Hi, thanks for the compliment. Yep Marcus is an amazing player. I thought it was about time someone did a tribute to him so I did on my first album. I did my own solo.
I have the good fortune of knowing him. It was nice to hear him say likes my version too.
I use a Status Empathy 6 String Bass into Korg A3 FX unit into an Avalon U5 DI
into a Quest 3004 Power Amp into 2 of my own design 2x10+Horn High End Cabs ( Marcus also has 2 of these in his Studio)

Hi there, your making me smile, Glad you like the track. I use a Status Empathy 6 string bass,an Avalon U5,with no pre-amp & I design my own Wayne Jones high end bass cabinets. Just about to finish the prototypes for my next models.
The video came about as one of my students thought fellow bass players would love to see how I play my version of Marcus's track. He just came to my house & shot it. The track is from my first 2006 CD Forgotten Melody

I've heard many versions of "Run for cover", many covers some of which were passable and some terrible. What I like about this cover is you're not trying to be Marcus. Instead you've you're own tone and style. I like it a lot. Thank you for sharing it with us.

OMG!!! I'm not sure how I've missed this version for an entire year: it is absolutely AWESOME!!! I don't miss MM when he's in the DC area... Of course, he like it!!! He LOVES great MUSIC and this is GREAT (Sax & Lead are smokin')!!! Equally amazing to me is your use of a 6 string. Sure, possibly easier as far as movement, but what accuracy and muting skills you must have!!! Thanks for sharing and I will be checking out your other work. Be Blessed!!!

Thanks, glad you like it. It was recorded direct with just minimal EQ, a nice delay & verb. It was that Status that gave me the sound.
