Don't pray to people. They are dead. This is idolitry; where you decide to put man before God. God instructs us to pray to Him only (Psalm 50:15; Matthew 6:9-13). The Bible speaks of Jesus being our sole mediator (1 Timothy 2:5-6; 1 John 1:21) and intercessor (Hebrews 7:25). Nowhere does the Bible direct us to pray to followers of God who have died.

We simply ask for the prayers of God's holy people to rise before the throne of God continually. Read Revelation, and Hebrews 11. The saints are not dead they are more alive than any of us on earth and their prayers are powerful for they dwell in beatific vision. This view of the communion of saints is foreign to that of all of Church History. Not sure if you realize this but this is a Catholic worship band, the tired arguments that people use against the faith are not going to convince committed Christians to stop doing what committed Christians have always done.
