I made a desert Called it peace, broken with a topaz fist Do you know you’re a lovely old soul? Fruit of my dawn, a mist settled in my marrow Through my heart like an arrow I feel bruises between hemispheres Left by sweet proximity Squandered in your fair city Where I spent all my time getting high Feeling so worried out of my mind But in my darkest throes, you could have been my open door Now I keep falling out of myself Out of space and time where I’m never going to leave you Where you’re mine, I’ll never stray I ask you to stay, but still I fade I made a desert Shadow on the vector with a shade of chrome Underneath blue skies I stepped around my own encryption code With you in my marrow, through my heart like an arrow Covet you and I’ll creep by the note you left In a bountiful dwelling Where I spend all my time getting high Feeling so worried out of my mind In my darkest throes, yeah you could be my open door But I keep falling out of myself Out of space and time where I’m never going to leave you Where you’re mine, I’ll never stray I ask you to stay, but still I fade So I’ll attach my ghost unto your sweetness Through the white noise, so that you may visit me in the night The night shows you are sleek, I am tinder Ember that I harbor, in you I grow so tired Do you know you’re a lovely old soul? Fruit of my dawn a mist settled within my marrow Oh but you don’t know, no you don’t know You’re the hymn on the pulpit, the arch up above The marigold thunder I hear in that distant storm Oh I still feel it’s reign in my bones It’s the sinew of my merit that is swelling with your love As swift as it is tender, it echoes through my soul Without it I’m left in this moment With all I wanted to say and I keep falling out myself Out of space and time where I’m never going to leave you Where you’re mine, I’ll never stray I ask you to stay, but still I fade
This song was the most beautiful melding of music and poetry I had ever heard at the time this album came out, and I believe it probably still is. Since 2014, still nothing has overtaken it. This entire album honestly was pretty life-changing for me. I'll always see it as a masterpiece, really.
4:17 ... I sit and listen to this...even in my dreams...just marvel at the sound and how it makes me feel grateful for the love I've found and weep about the possibility of its loss and smile at the inevitability of it. Basically, it's a gorgeous piece and I hope the makers of it know it resounds in hearts far and wide
i think about and come back to this song all the time. it's the closest i can ever get to an out of body experience where i'm able to see my very soul, as swift as it is tender. even in the context of the entire album, really. it's special beyond words
Do you know you’re a lovely old soul? I heard this from my discovered weekly and loved it. When I looked at the name, I was like..."is that even pronouncable??" But then I looked it up and was like..."Oh. There's a word for it."
Band is absolutely an anomaly. Very, very few people working together who could ever craft something so dystopian, optimistic... it's all so beautiful. Even the backend is like a heartbeat. One of the most gorgeous things I've ever heard
Fckng amazing song!! cant believe how this is so underrated this deserve millions of views and live videos, tours, etc... come on, take my money, touring to europe and america!!
My favorite track on the album, love the dueling time signatures between the guitar and drums after the buildup - what a beautiful song. Reminds me of when I first fell in love with Radiohead (not to compare, just nice to have that feeling again).
This has been a favorite of mine since I heard it in Austin, Tx at Come and Take It, maybe around 3 years ago. I hope the band made it through covid and I get to see them again!
Wetty has said that he knows this song is the best on the album. He has said that New Album is full of tracks as real as this. I am waiting in breathless anticipation.
não me importo se não viraram lendas do rock ainda... o importante é que fazem muitas musicas boas e essa é um outro nivel! espero esse novo album 2021 ??!
Underrated album, unfairly compared to The Mars Volta at release. Sure they were doing similar things but that doesn't mean that Closure in Moscow didn't absolutely kill it here.
My favourite song on the album, close to Church of the Technochrist. It has a feel of their older songs, from The Penance and the Patience. Maybe a bit like Ofelia...Ofelia. The others are new-age and don't have that feel. So I like this,
+Bluezbreakr2 I'd usually dismiss any comparison to Jeff Buckley but this one's totally justified. so glad i searched google for "mauerbauertraurigkeit"!
so i was looking up the word Mauerbauertraurigkeit and this was just the first result, am not disappointed
Exactly
Hahaha same

So happy to have lived my 46 years to have met this song. It feels like a best friend. Thanks band. :)
I made a desert
Called it peace, broken with a topaz fist
Do you know you’re a lovely old soul?
Fruit of my dawn, a mist settled in my marrow
Through my heart like an arrow
I feel bruises between hemispheres
Left by sweet proximity
Squandered in your fair city
Where I spent all my time getting high
Feeling so worried out of my mind
But in my darkest throes, you could have been my open door
Now I keep falling out of myself
Out of space and time where I’m never going to leave you
Where you’re mine, I’ll never stray
I ask you to stay, but still I fade
I made a desert
Shadow on the vector with a shade of chrome
Underneath blue skies
I stepped around my own encryption code
With you in my marrow, through my heart like an arrow
Covet you and I’ll creep by the note you left
In a bountiful dwelling
Where I spend all my time getting high
Feeling so worried out of my mind
In my darkest throes, yeah you could be my open door
But I keep falling out of myself
Out of space and time where I’m never going to leave you
Where you’re mine, I’ll never stray
I ask you to stay, but still I fade
So I’ll attach my ghost unto your sweetness
Through the white noise, so that you may visit me in the night
The night shows you are sleek, I am tinder
Ember that I harbor, in you I grow so tired
Do you know you’re a lovely old soul?

The marigold thunder I hear in that distant storm
Oh I still feel it’s reign in my bones
It’s the sinew of my merit that is swelling with your love
As swift as it is tender, it echoes through my soul
Without it I’m left in this moment
With all I wanted to say and I keep falling out myself
Out of space and time where I’m never going to leave you
Where you’re mine, I’ll never stray
I ask you to stay, but still I fade
THANKS

Beyond the music, that's a great poem.

4:48 and on is absolutely beautiful. The whole song is amazing.
My absolute favorite song on the album. The vocal melodies are so intense.
Best track on the album
I only just discovered this. I can't believe how amazing this song is.

One of my all time favourite vocal tracks.
Big agree

@@wro3650 Holy shit you are right about the heartbeat. Whan an album. So good I get sad thinking I ll probably never find something like it again
This is the most beautiful song on the Planet Earth!
This song is amazing.

Fckng amazing song!!

This is the only song I know by this band and I already think their singer has one of my favorite voices that I've ever heard.
yesss
I was disappointed when I gave the rest of this album a listen and he doesn't use his voice like this on it at all
This whole album kicks. Feeling like this band might be huge
I finally found the song that speaks what I feel all the damn time.
Same
Music like this helps remind me how to be myself
this song connects to me in a way that i cannot even fully understand myself... but thats why i love it even more.
I've always loved his vocals, but my god on this track they're just on another level.
Favourite song of all time
My favorite track on the album, love the dueling time signatures between the guitar and drums after the buildup - what a beautiful song. Reminds me of when I first fell in love with Radiohead (not to compare, just nice to have that feeling again).
Just a comment i should have wrote 4 years ago when i met this song. Hope it isnt late now

Just found out about this band. This whole album is gold. Hope they come to the states soon!
This has been a favorite of mine since I heard it in Austin, Tx at Come and Take It, maybe around 3 years ago. I hope the band made it through covid and I get to see them again!
I think this song changes my life a little, you guys diserve more
This whole album literally changed my life drastically. They'll never stop being my favorite band.
I'll die for this song, hope to live to hear it 🤟🥰
This is pure art.
I was randomly searching about Mauerbauertraurigkeit.. glad that I got to hear this masterpiece before I die.
This song always gets me so much. Just it feels like it talks right about my own personality. I know how that feels bro.

Excuse me while I cry over this...
Wetty has said that he knows this song is the best on the album. He has said that New Album is full of tracks as real as this. I am waiting in breathless anticipation.
Such a beautiful song.
This song is amazing and so underrated. I wish more people knew about it. I share it, and other songs of theirs, with people as much as possible. ❤❤❤
Woow impresionante canción, a la perfección entiendo la canción 😮😮💯✨👏👏
Gorgeous
they need more recognition
such a beautiful underrated song.
this song for me is exactly the meaning and what you feel when u fall in love.... that second part is just how I personally feel
Writing this before I listen. I hope I’m not disappointed
4:13 and beyond: truly magnificent
bruh I had a moment just now listening to that crescendo. I got all tingly in my legs

The Song's really getting into my head
It's a really great album

3:28 is that a baritone guitar? Or a bass or what? Love that sound
I think its a chord shaped being moved around the bottom three strings, tuned in D standard
So good
Eargasm.
leave this term in 2015
Braingasm
from 2006 - present,😘😘😘
güzeell........... şarkı başlığı beni anlatıyor sanki.
:(
Very odd and hypnotic. I love when bands purposely DONT write shitty radio music. Then again im disappointed at what is played on the radio over this.
Dude, listen to Depressive Metal Rock Radio, that's how I found out about Closure in Moscow.
Seems like everyone was looking for the word mauerbauertraurigkeit to know what it is exactly, and ended up here
I can't pronounce the name of the song😢 but know well the feelings mentioned
Thought this was Elliot Coleman for a sec. Such a good song
Live version please!
The singer reminds me of Freddie Mercury mixed with Jeff Buckley
Came here because the name of the song
The song makes me feel what the word means
This feels like Haken, Opeth, and Jeff Buckley at the same time. And it's awesome.
When did Jeff Buckley make a prog album?
Or, y'know, start breathing again?
+Bluezbreakr2 I'd usually dismiss any comparison to Jeff Buckley but this one's totally justified. so glad i searched google for "mauerbauertraurigkeit"!
Is the album cover a Jodorowsky’s Holy Mountain reference?
So many feels
p.s. Come to the USA before I light myself on fire.
this resonates with me
So Most people who wound up here from searching the word could actually understand each other and yet will most definitely push each other away 🤦
🤗
Ayushi Dwivedi, yaar please do let me know about the main theme of this song!? 🐣
Mauerbauertraurigkeit.
The ending could be part of Dark Side Of The Moon if I didn't know better... anyone else?
Do you know you're a lovely old soul?
This can be so sad
What does the name of the song mean?
kinda reminds me of subterranean homesick alien by Radiohead
Dinosaur Boss Battle
Is it a sad song?
can someone please tell me how the hell to pronounce this
mow-wer bow-wer tro-rig-ight
would transcribe as *Trow-rig-kite
Google the German R and refer to the previous comment.
MAUERBAUERTRAURIGKEIT
Some parts remind me of Jeff Buckley, very respectable.
some of the riffs have a jimi hendrix sound.... i dont buy a lot of music, but im very much considering buying this cd. im really impressed
They're Aussies and big Jeff Buckley fans. Look up their acoustic version of "Deluge".
When did the singer from dream theater join radiohead?
HOW TF DO YOU SAY THAT WORD THO?
lily??
jeff buckley is live!!!!
Radiohead vibe heavy here.
Sounds like Sia 1990/2000 version
:'(
Is this german? :D
no, this is AWESOME.... probably german :/
wall sadness is what it directly translates into. the full word doesn't translate. i'm guessing a wall of sadness.
and then i found this...
www.dictionaryofobscuresorrows.com/post/25422386446/mauerbauertraurigkeit
Matt Baer Thats Awesome :D
The literal translation is "wall builder sadness". Greetings from Doitshlund.
