What a terrific use of automation from Hunkeler and Horizon. Watching this run with 1 operator is nothing short amazing!

The nipper looked misaligned on the spine coming in into the trimmer.

Thanks for your comment. The Smart Binding System is actually not designed for huge runs of 10,000 copies, but rather for smaller runs. The big advantage: Due to the variable processing, the inline production enables a fully automated production of up to 800 copies per hour with product changes in thickness and format - without the need for operator intervention or changeover.

@@HORIZONGMBH 800 copies an hour ? So would take 40 years to pay for the system considering the consumable overheads and the size of the building high corporation tax all added ……… we have a saying for this busy fools . Are the photocells self cleaning ? Does the machine clear jams itself ? I’m guessing you would also pay electronic engineers and robotic engineers on massive wages . Looks fancy I’ll give you that so was the pdf workflow system I’m guessing is now redundant

@@ossyrover1982 The system is designed for a certain number of small runs as well as for single runs. The most important factor here is to minimise set-up times in order to allow the operator to concentrate on the quality of the products and to reduce his workload.
