It feels all planned out, i love joey and i dont mind, but i wish he would actually give something aggressive and direct.
@ joey is a great lyricist with a consistent catalog, he just isn’t mainstream as he once was. No one was talking about any coast until last year when west had a big year because of Kendrick and Tyler. Joey and maybe rocky the only ones from NY that still do real hip hop.

Yall didn't even catch the Daylyt shot lol, he literally responded with the same energy. That line is preceded by Divine/Devone (Daylyt's name) and the little light (lyt) of mine is all slick wordplay. Just like Daylyt with the "average joe" line.

"West up" yall boys so corny bro lol. This aint no West vs East thing, Joey dissing Dot and Cole clearly shows he aiming at smthn bigger. S/O to you for recognizing that CJ track tho, he went crazy.
The only thing joey needs to do on the next track is SAY THEY NAMES , we already know who you talking about king, just say they names and roll em in blunt (lyrically)
@ I get that, if he wants smoke with lyt or Vaughn they can go at it. Kendrick and Cole are way above his weight class. I’m not saying Joey can’t rap but he’s gotta get his name poppin again before he goes after the big dawgs. It’s like Jay Z every rapper was throwing shots he would send a sub back every now and then but most of them he just ignored. Kings don’t worry about peasants kind of thing. Just my opinion. I rap, if I send shots at Joey he’s not responding. 🤣🤣🤣
The scene seated at the table looks like a re-creation of the final scene of, “Dead Presidents II” with JayZ giving a toast with Biggie, AZ and others seated, before they start playing monopoly with real money. But…. This is not Reasonable Doubt, Brooklyn Don energy. “IT’S NOT ENOUGH! Say you bigger than myself, but, it’s NOT ENOUGH!”
A good song writer would’ve been able to make his intentions clear on the rulers back. The fact he even mentioned “west coast” was like the antagonist asking for it and now putting blame on the other after getting slapped. I just think it was a weak ahh clout move. And he not even sayin shit. The camera guy need 90% royalties.
Joey needs the competition for numbers. He's a great rapper, but I didn't even know he did this until I looked up your channel to check what content you make.
If Daylyt responds and it's fire, Joey will have to deliver something crazy or it'll disrupt the energy of his rollout. You can't jump out, say there's too much west coast d lickin because i'm the king on new york so bring it on Kendrick, and not out rap any of the generals or colonels.
If you go back to the discussion saying Kendrick’s Control verse, the point of the verse wasn’t to instigate any battles, but more so to trigger the most popular rappers to step their own music up and put out the best quality. Joey needs to focus on that before trying to challenge for any crown
@ for sure, I’m not saying Kendrick didn’t also want to engage in lyrical exercise for the crown. I’m just saying the crown is more than just a single battle or some dope verses, it’s about bodies of work. Hence why Jay is usually above Nas all time despite Nas winning the battle and arguable being the better “lyricist” for longer; Hov simply had more impactful bodies of work
kendrick warning shot “euphoria” put drake to bed. joeys warning shots are putting me to sleep, he can’t expect to win a battle with kibbles and bits surely?
Joey’s just not the guy who’s gonna usher in any wave. He’s over here doing his best Griselda impression 7 years too late. Dude is always chasing the trends, not setting them. 1999 was nostalgia bait. This new shit he doing is just more nostalgia bait.
first of all 1999 cam out years before griselda even had a wave so If anything pro era underachievers and the flatbush zombies brought it back, second off joey got songs with conway and westside gunn going back 5-6 years, you never liked joey or the pro era movement for hating ass reasons
That Griselda music is garbage, that stuff got no drums😂 and Joey is another bring the 90's back typeof rapper and did that garbage boom bap before Griselda
'Just go and make them hits that you not making, without hating'. It's actually a terrible look to disregard an entire diss track and take a shot at Cole. Joey a cornball.
We can see he is confident. But when your best lines are old Jay Z and Biggie lines. Waiting 6 7 months later to diss someone that you’re not name dropping. Comes off as clout chasing.
Biggie and Pac combined? Joey don't measure up to either one of them wtf!! Being confident in your raps is one thing but come on man, let those legends be legends
O for 2 for Joey... Solid rapping don't make a diss smh ... Why is he going at the west just to uplift the east? Also I'm still waiting 4 the Troy Ave diss....
I dont think rulers back or this is meant to be a diss though. It very much feels like bait/warning track. Rulers back was eh but this one was actually a dope track. I think hes posturing a lil too much and now was the time to take more direct shots even if it wasnt to go full out. I hope he has sumn ready bc daylyt will respond like tomorrow lmao
why is he trying to take on the whole west coast on his own 😭 man new yorkers don’t care about starting this beef up again, we have our own scenes, we’re chilling
This was mediocre as all hell man. I’m not holding hands or giving participation awards in 2025, this is so unimpressive in every way. If this is what NY is coming with, they need to throw in the towel now. A bunch of chest beating, tough talking, basic 1+1 bars, elementary flow, tired beats, terrible production. He needs to go sharpen his skills at home before aiming at the cats out west, they are on top of their game in every way, and this is coming from a Chicago poet. It’s just not enough.
I love what you do Sir. This response was trash. He ducked all the smoke and did not come at the guys who really came at him. Please don’t treat this trash as if it’s a good response. It’s not and is super lame.
The glaring issue for me is how average both tracks are. The beats are average Conductor beats, not even stand outs. Average Joey lyrics, below average disses and average to below average creativity in general. I really hope Cole goes after Joey, would love to see that. It would help Cole regain some respect and it would show us if Joey is as good as he thinks he is, cause I don't think anyone but Joey think he's on the same level of Cole or Kenny.
beats is your opinion i love this beat. but if you think joey lyrically cant hang with cole your insane. a decade ago people were saying the exact opposite lol. if you missed out on the whole beast coast movement just say that cause joeys verse on hardknock alone is ELITE level shit.

Throw a rock, yes. But hind hands?! The record is called “sorry not sorry” and literally saying he don’t care how they took it and he not gonna apologize or delete it like Cole.
@@elp3035Nah that's def something Cole would say if he did what Joey did.
Classic old school wu tang on second verse remind me of old video music box scenes
0 for 2, battle, bars, bop, smoke, all the flavor in my ear, doesn't give me nothing to rewind 2.
lyrically, he's not there, he's not there at all
When the "nostalgia" wears off, what art is left? He needs to move the art forward
Joeys catalog is great sir, if you wana hear more than boom bap shit than listen to All Amerikkkan Badass
@noteveharrington I'm familiar with his work, he's great
he's lived of the boom bap nostalgia, but to me its always an air of it being corny and not believable
Man… I know folks will criticize this because, you could. But this is actually what we want from Hip Hop. Especially NYC rappers.
Yeah they want euphoria type direct shots
Yeah this is what NY rappers and citizens want.. The rest of the world... Nahhhh
Yeah ppl say he's not taking direct shots but he's directly talking to everyone @@mphenomenal
So y’all gotta hate on the west to put y’all selves back on the map..if you’re so great you can put yourself on the map without needing other people lmao..your skills should be enough..but yeah ok…..
By this logic kendrick shouldnt have had to diss drake to put the west on the map then? See how ridiculous your logic is when its flipped onto you
Came off as a solid track and not a full response. Addresses some responders, but more so just spitting bars. Love it that NY jazzy grit.
NY? Thats buffalo, NY grit is little Nas X today
Honestly, I'm 100% here for this.
Joey's getting multiple pens going at once. Can't hate on what he's doing.
Great cinematography.
Conductor still the producer for the haters
He’s hoping one of em will get the motions he’s hoping for, 0-4 from the field
I'm gonna sue!
Conductor gotta get some bars now too 😂
😂😂😂
@@Brickbrickbrickinthewall judging rap like this is so wack man lol. He's puttin out great music, that's all that matters.
In my opinion, this was pre recorded and planned on joeys side to bring attention for an album, because conductor said him and joey has a bunch of other songs after the ruler dropped, and now this with him being passive aggressive with no name drops or no direct disses at anyone that responded to him. It feels all planned out, i love joey and i dont mind, but i wish he would actually give something aggressive and direct.
if he's the king of new york no wonder ppl are talking about the West Coast all the time
@ joey is a great lyricist with a consistent catalog, he just isn’t mainstream as he once was. No one was talking about any coast until last year when west had a big year because of Kendrick and Tyler. Joey and maybe rocky the only ones from NY that still do real hip hop.
LA native here....im liking this.
Texas in the building! I like it too but that’s my problem with Joey. I like most of his work but I haven’t LOVED anything in years. But at least it’s trending upwards.
Hip Hop has money on the floor..keep it artistic..keep it raw..keep it smooth keep it 🔥..Rock the Beat..it’s all about straight talent..no violence …Hip Hop Finesse Rise Up 💚🍯🔑🔨🪶
On some pure hip hop emcee type ish…this was smooth.
I strongly dislike the “NWA” bar because he sound like he don’t get why the west coast would be mad at that bar when he knows why it’s like throwing a stone and being like “what I do?”
I miss when artists put it on wax before running to twitter, happy joey just posting his music
May Joey survive getting lit up by Daylyt IF there's a second response...
Look yall, aside from expecting ppl to just body each other lets appreciate the fact ppl rappin again
Yessss
In terms of line for line, rapping skills, Joey is not even close to Daylyt. I hope status doesn't become a factor
Daylyt had the bar “I left my mind there they should put a statue of me in Time Square” so I feel the bar Joey says bout “out his mind” is to Lyt
You’re spot on with Duck Down. Joey has always been a Duck Down/ Boot Camp Clique inspired artist. That’s the actual nineties reference he’s thrown back too since his beginning
Right, but Buckshot would spit daggers if it came to battling. Joey is spitting sporks
we address needa the real beef: Mustard vs Conductor....
A reactor named Kito said. Man, this ish is Lyrical Nyquil😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂
It's boootay😂
Can't lie… east ninjas are the biggest haters on the planet 😂
Meet the Grahams would like a word
KDot just said he the biggest hater tho lol, ain't he from Cali?
Visuals and aesthetics are fire, the energy around it is cool too but the substance and potency not there for me so it lacks replay value
ITS ALL HAPPENING!!!!
Come on Joey with the gospel bars: This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine 🗑️🍅🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Yall didn't even catch the Daylyt shot lol, he literally responded with the same energy.
That line is preceded by Divine/Devone (Daylyt's name) and the little light (lyt) of mine is all slick wordplay. Just like Daylyt with the "average joe" line.
@@ptyten9718don’t bother expanding bars to West Coast ppl, they like lies and disrespect 😂
@@ptyten9718 So tuff bruh
I like cats are rapping but honestly this is super wack.
super wack is absolutely insane dawg lol, ya'll crazy 😂
'Sorry Not Sorry' by Demi Lovato really must've reverberated through the black community. This is like the 5th rap song titled this 😅
That s*** was weak!!! If that's the hardest you can come, New York you might as well just lay down now. Because you're about to figure out our crash out culture. West up!! CJ's was, way better bar for bar. He's actually maybe some competition.
The west outside of kendrick and Tyler have Blueface.
CJ did what Joey should have. Joey’s slow flow, single syllable rhyme scheme ain’t gonna work in 2025. I wish Marci cared LOL Rome should cook Joey with a throwaway and take the title….
Maaaan Kendrick didn't need to say names in Like That for ppl to know who was he talkin about lol.
Joey was pretty direct in dissin Cole and Dot.
You’re on the ball 😂😂😂 I think you’re the first one to react!
Joey Feels clout chasey too me but he does have bars.
This is how it was.. competition not clout chasing
Joey one hell of a rapper
Boy Justin you prove how having a vast vocabulary can make garbage into art! Haaaaated it!!!😂
The scene seated at the table looks like a re-creation of the final scene of, “Dead Presidents II” with JayZ giving a toast with Biggie, AZ and others seated, before they start playing monopoly with real money. But…. This is not Reasonable Doubt, Brooklyn Don energy. “IT’S NOT ENOUGH! Say you bigger than myself, but, it’s NOT ENOUGH!”
Quoting a Dot bar when he's dissin Cole in this song is corny
On the second beat peep how it goes black & white. No more daylight
oh dear
I hope Dreamville JID answers Joey
Ray Vaughns response was better than all of the back and forths so far. Even better than both of Joey’s. Sorry Not Sorry 🤷🏽♀️
💯
Joey needs the competition for numbers. He's a great rapper, but I didn't even know he did this until I looked up your channel to check what content you make.
love the vibe, its a good song but its not as direct as it should've been.
If Daylyt responds and it's fire, Joey will have to deliver something crazy or it'll disrupt the energy of his rollout. You can't jump out, say there's too much west coast d lickin because i'm the king on new york so bring it on Kendrick, and not out rap any of the generals or colonels.
Nostalgia is a helluva drug.
Joey got the real 20v1
If you go back to the discussion saying Kendrick’s Control verse, the point of the verse wasn’t to instigate any battles, but more so to trigger the most popular rappers to step their own music up and put out the best quality. Joey needs to focus on that before trying to challenge for any crown
kendrick called himself the king of new york, and WC laughed at the east over it for weeks.....
@ for sure, I’m not saying Kendrick didn’t also want to engage in lyrical exercise for the crown. I’m just saying the crown is more than just a single battle or some dope verses, it’s about bodies of work. Hence why Jay is usually above Nas all time despite Nas winning the battle and arguable being the better “lyricist” for longer; Hov simply had more impactful bodies of work
Tyler, the creater has a song called sorry not sorry too 🤔.... is that a jab?
@@JacDanz Thought the same, too.
kendrick warning shot “euphoria” put drake to bed. joeys warning shots are putting me to sleep, he can’t expect to win a battle with kibbles and bits surely?
Joey’s just not the guy who’s gonna usher in any wave. He’s over here doing his best Griselda impression 7 years too late. Dude is always chasing the trends, not setting them.
1999 was nostalgia bait. This new shit he doing is just more nostalgia bait.
first of all 1999 cam out years before griselda even had a wave so If anything pro era underachievers and the flatbush zombies brought it back, second off joey got songs with conway and westside gunn going back 5-6 years, you never liked joey or the pro era movement for hating ass reasons
His wave is to make sub par boom bap nostalgia music
That Griselda music is garbage, that stuff got no drums😂 and Joey is another bring the 90's back typeof rapper and did that garbage boom bap before Griselda
'Just go and make them hits that you not making, without hating'. It's actually a terrible look to disregard an entire diss track and take a shot at Cole. Joey a cornball.
I hate how some people are mistaking confidence for clout chasing
I hear you but this song’s are weak
He clout chasing for sure. Just cause he's confident don't mean he ain't clout chasing. Dude called out the the West Coast for absolutely no reason.
They want aggressiveness and not bravado though they are the same.
This part ✔️✔️✔️
We can see he is confident. But when your best lines are old Jay Z and Biggie lines. Waiting 6 7 months later to diss someone that you’re not name dropping. Comes off as clout chasing.
Biggie and Pac combined? Joey don't measure up to either one of them wtf!! Being confident in your raps is one thing but come on man, let those legends be legends
I like how he switch the beat.
joey tried to get to the penthouse and daylyt hemmed him up in the lobby lol
2:18 he's at the table with 50cents after being sent to do that stuff. Lol
O for 2 for Joey...
Solid rapping don't make a diss smh ...
Why is he going at the west just to uplift the east? Also I'm still waiting 4 the Troy Ave diss....
Yeah this is Zzzzzzx
Still waiting for the troy ave diss? He bodied him on the sway freestyle back in 2016 dude lol where have you been?
I dont think rulers back or this is meant to be a diss though. It very much feels like bait/warning track. Rulers back was eh but this one was actually a dope track. I think hes posturing a lil too much and now was the time to take more direct shots even if it wasnt to go full out. I hope he has sumn ready bc daylyt will respond like tomorrow lmao
If you actually kept up Joey dissed on Sway in the Morning years ago lol.
@RhymesNDimes too many ppl are taking Joey's take as a diss😅 Recency bias for sure i guess
Not even close!!!
Ray Vaughn Smoked It!!!
Bow out now gracefully.
why is he trying to take on the whole west coast on his own 😭 man new yorkers don’t care about starting this beef up again, we have our own scenes, we’re chilling
Ray Vaughan had the best response by far. Then probably the brother Mick Jenkins
LOVE the vibe and energy in the song/vid. Love the rhyme schemes. Not the hardest bars, but I'm here for it!!
Sorry, not sorry it wasn't enough
The visuals after the beat switch is giving off ODB vibes
I don’t think this compares to Ray Vaughn’s joint BUT this is on pointtt.. He can def go track for track with Daylyt if he start w/ triple entendres..
This is not what's happening 😂😂😂I meant IT'S ALL HAPPENING 😂😂😂😂
@@noteveharrington Nobody will remember these songs in 6 months, that's all. If you think these beats and these songs are moving the needle, then salute to you, but I don't see these songs being talked about at all outside of people like you and I. What Cole can do with flows is light years ahead of what Joey does, he's one dimensional. That's just my opinion. And Hardknock is "cool" it's in NO WAY an example of a verse that tells me he would cook Cole. That was a strange example.
@ but you think rayvaughns song will go down as some classic diss? lmao speak for yourself my man, joey gon drop a fire album this year and I cant wait, if you want different flows and diversity listen to All Amerikkan Badass
@@noteveharrington You're deducing a bunch of things from neutral comments bro. Who's even talking about Ray? Joey is dope bro, nobody is saying he isn't. But this isn't moving the needle, that is all. You can't be a part time actor/rapper and think you should be considered peers with Cole and Kendrick. Nobody believes him.
Mick Jenkins bodied him 😂
This is falling flat for me tbh. Feels like diet version of control.
Video is tight but feels like he has venom for no reason. It’s hard to feel it when he hasn’t been around.
The first wasnt enough , and this was lighter than the first … Sincerely - A Bedford-Stuyvesant native 🤦🏿♂️
I like the song the NWA bar was great... We coming back though. This ain't hard enough Joey. The only bad ass I know is Boosie 😂
Amen! The definition of mid. Not wack, but not dope. CJ should ghostwrite. Joey’s flow is stale
Both bars were corny
I love this man. Keep giving us this music, hip hop eating good again🤝🏾
