Simply put Mark is a gift from God and Mark gave us a gift by writing this Timeless Christmas classic.
I can't believe my ears right now! I'm blown away! This is phenomenal and this reaction is giving me the chills! I'm just shook right now.
He's 61. He's been diagnosed with MS, is partially deaf in one ear, and has a leg made mostly of metal- it had to be rebuilt after a motorcycle crash crushed it.
I've always loved his music. He's a superior singer now to what he was when he was in his 20's- primarily because he spent years traveling with the Gaither Vocal Band- and Bill Gaither is a perfectioninst.
Mark wrote this song and believes every word, so his performances of it are always amazing.
My gosh, I had no idea Mark has MS and is partially deaf! I always so enjoyed hearing him in the Gaither Vocal Band, not to mention his great comedy (and Bill was always a good sport!) His faith in Jesus is definitely genuine!

This is the man, Mark Lowry, who wrote this song, and he sings it on stage, in one of the best performances I've ever seen!!! 1 of only 2 songs Pentatonix couldn't improve upon!!! The reason he's sitting here is due to his MS!! (In case you're wondering, that was an 18-second note!!!)

18 seconds on the word, "Lamb". But he didn't take a breath before Lamb, he took it before, "..the praises of the..", which adds 4 more seconds to the breath/note.
He is a gospel singer and comedian.
Mark Lowry actually is classically trained, so yes it's an impressive note, but be impressed at the singers around him who held their notes and moved them then resolved the chord.
You should check out David Phelps. One of the top tenors in history. Truly amazing

Mark is not only known for his singing and songwriting, as this song attests, but as a comedian as well. In the last few years he has even taken on a talk show, Dinner Conversations, hosting it with another guy, his name escapes me right now. They sit down to dinner with various well known Christians and other folk and talk about their lives with major issues.

Pentatonix did this a few Christmas albums ago if you are curious. No need to rush though. You can give this one some time and space on your channel. I think you'll find that each are great in their own way, so no need to compare.

That was my first time listening to Voctave. Absolutely breathtaking. My brother is good friends with Mark. I have met him and heard him sing years ago at Thomas Road Baptist Church. Amazing man with an amazing voice and love for God.
I got to see Mark Lowry at Lakewood church in Houston Texas about 20 years ago. It was awesome, something I will never forget.

This is IMHO the best version of this contemporary Christmas classic. Mark Lowry wrote the lyrics of this song (music by Buddy Greene). He's very seasoned performer from many acquaintances (Gaither Vocal Band etc.). One of the most emotional acappella performances I've ever seen. Greetings from Finland!

They are both sung in Tagalog one of the native languages over all the islands. Pay attention to her sitting in both songs. Also in the first song near the end she sings for almost 17 seconds on one breath.

Actually, Mark wrote the lyrics. His friend wrote the music.
You need to listen to him singing his song with the Gaither Vocal Band. If you’re not familiar, the Gaither Vocal Band is a group of Christian musicians (singers). While the members have changed over the years, the founder, Bill Gaither, is still the leader....the glue that holds the group together. While there is great emotion in this, there is much much more in the Gaither videos. Mark Lowry is in his early 60’s...61 or 62. He is and always has been amazing. 💜💜💜👍🏼

Mark is the man that wrote the lyrics for the song! He wrote the lyrics, then gave the words to a guy named Buddy Greene, who is a harmonica player. Buddy wrote the music in one day.

I finally looked up the sheet music for this arrangement. Mark's hold on the lyric "Lamb" is 20 beats long with a fermata over the last four beats--meaning the note can be held longer than the total 20 beats.

Mark made his first "mark" as a Christian comedian, and then spent many years as the baritone in the Gaither Vocal Band, an award winning Gospel singing group. His singing tends to get underestimated but he shines when he takes center stage. He wrote the lyrics to this song and his friend Buddy Greene wrote the music.

Nobody sings this song like Mark Lowry, with so much passion, faith and belief and a velvet baritone, I wrote that before. But it is stillere, he has a passion, faith and belief that makes everything’s he sings amazing❤

"Mary, Did You Know?" is a Christmas song addressing Mary, mother of Jesus, with lyrics written by Mark Lowry in 1984, and originally Mark used the lyrics on Christmas cards. Later on he requested of several friends if someone could put music to his lyrics. The music was written by Buddy Greene in 1991. It was originally recorded by Christian recording artist Michael English on his self-titled debut solo album in 1991. At the time, English and Lowry were members of the Gaither Vocal Band, and Greene was touring with them. The song reached Number 6 on CCM Magazine's Adult Contemporary Chart. Lowry would record the song several times himself, most notably with the Gaither Vocal Band on their 1998 Christmas album, Still the Greatest Story Ever Told. Lowry also recoded it with 'Voctave' while sitting due to being stricken with MS. This was an incredible feat in itself and well worth viewiǹg, and reacting to! 👌
